La la land and lines of communication

From time to time, I still chuckle when I realize that some folks still live in la la land and believe that ALL of their emails always arrive in someone's inbox and are, therefore, always read.

Namely, this is in regards to customers or prospects writing in and never considering that either their email is sitting burried with 200 other emails in the spam box ... OR, the reply that is being sent back to them is doing the same. Which means no lines of communication.

Of course, a support ticket system HELPS this but isn't flawless. So other contact information is often provided (Skype, toll-free for customers to easily get in touch) yet the frustrated "where's my reply" type emails still come in.

BUT...

What's even worse is when a someone calls and wraps up their call with "looking forward to hearing back from you"... yet they didn't leave a phone number, didn't leave an email address and mumbled their name (not that I'd go search for it either way).

If the person you're waiting for a reply from DOES NOT have your contact information on hand... you'll be waiting for a while.
