Camtasia Question - How Can I do 640x480 Faster?

Hi,

I created ALL my Camtasia videos 1200 x 750 because
I didn't know that was bad.

Now, I want to do a 640x480 but it takes SUPER LONG
clicking on each of the blue diamonds (Zoom n Pan symbols)
to center it one by one...

...Is there a way I can make it 640x480 for ALL blue
diamonds (zoom n pan symbols) all throughout my 1200x750
video? Without doing it one by one?

Please let me know if there is a FASTER way to edit my videos
to 640x480.

Thanks so much!

BJ

    Ummm...no.

If you've recorded at 1200x750 and want to change the size and use pan & zoom you will need to do it manually.

In the future, record at as close a window size to 640x480 as you can (if not 640x480 then 800x600, etc.) and try the SmartFocus feature in Camtasia 5. This will put the zoom keyframes in automatically for you greatly reducing the editing time since you will only need to change things you don't like.

And if you want to remove the green rectangle that shows up in the Camtasia zooms check out this tutorial:

I think the smart focus is a pain in the butt, makes me lose focus more than pay attention.

Actually there is a way... but it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you want 1 box centered throughout the whole video, then just create 1 zoom and pan instance. It will remain at that view the whole video.

Now if you want to just center the box around whatever area it is zooming into, then your best bet is to copy the first instance of a zoom and pan, then watch the video and paste a new instance each time you need another zoom and pan.

This will make it so each instance is the exact same size and all you will have to do is deal with centering the box around whatever it is zooming to.

If this poses a problem for you, then you may just want to create your zoom and pans manually and not use smart focus.

      Hope that helps.
