Question on my Market Samurai generated keywords

I finally got MS, now I am trying to learn it. I went back and watched an old video from one of the big products. They used MS as an example.

Using the keyword golf, on the video they were getting genrated keywords like golf course, golf club, golf gifts, golf equipment, golf carts, stuff like that.

I took my MS and entered in golf and here are my results: equipment, valley, hills, ladies, club, packages, wood. I attached a screenshot.

Now, my results arworthless. Just a bunch of random keywords. I have done this with several niches and I just get random one word keywords, and nothing really related; and yes, I have the synonym tool checked.

Also, I only get like 50 results returned. I am using SEOT minimum of 2000. But, it shows all the way down to double digits.

What I am doing is going to google and using the keyword tool, then taking those keywords and importing them to MS. But, the dialy searches MS says are way more than the monthly searches the adwords tool shows.

Am I missing something?

I suggest sending this information, including the screen shot, to the support staff at Market Samurai.

As a side note, setting SEOT to 2000 seems high, since MS is supposedly supplying daily traffic estimates. This could explain a) why you get so few results and b) why so many of the keywords are single words.

I also suggest checking the box for google search terms in addition to synonyms.

I just tested on my MS, setting the SEOT to 100, and I received over 800 results. A quick scan indicates that many of the keywords are of the long tailed variety and are spot on the niche. Indeed, there is almost nothing off-topic.

Try reducing your SEOT requirement. It that doesn't work, contact the product support. You may have a faulty copy of the software.

Well that sucks, I lowered my SEOT to 100 like you did and only got 62 results. You got 800 on the same keyword? Gonna be a long weekend.

EDIT: I get 62 without the google search results clicked, but with the google search results clicked I get 842 rsults.

Charles, as stated it's your SEOT filter of 2000 that's the problem. You're asking for keywords with a #1 SERP position traffic estimate of 2000 clicks per day: that means the required # of searches is something over 140,000 per month. LOL. No wonder you were only seeing a few single-word keywords!

MS has training videos on their website which are worth watching. See 'em here:
