How to report plagiarism to Google

Hello,

Has anyone reported plagiarism to Google before?

Several weeks ago, I accidentally discovered a website that has been copying my articles without giving me any credit. He uses his own affiliate links with my articles.

I have tried to contact him many times but he just ignores me.

So I google the phrase "how to report plagiarism to google" and saw this site: Content Authors: Report Plagiarism to Google or Yahoo. Students: Report Cheating to a Teacher

Anyone tried this before?
Or anyone knows the right way to report plagiarism to Google?

THANKS!

      Hi yukon,
      Thanks for your response.
This particular site does not use Adsense.

    Hello Wrays,
Look up his domain name with a dns lookup and see who he is hosting his website with. For example maybe he is with hostgator.com and then you go and contact them and tell them what is going on.

Plus, google spiders pretty much everything it can index and really does not care about such things is my guess. They more then likely would tell you to contact his hosting provider.

Frankly, in my personal opinion, just let it go. In the time you spend trying to track down this crook you could of written several more articles.

There will always be bottom feeders out there that will steal your articles and other digital stuff as well. You can go after them and get them to stop what they are doing but it will more then likely just happen again.

It may sound like I am not against crooks. Actually, I am very much against them but there comes a time where you have a choice of chasing them and hoping it will not happen again or writing more content and just forgetting about the low life who did this to you.

Life is too short for so much stress. This is something I know very well.

Plus, I have had lots of articles and other digital products stolen over the years. But it is too tiring to go after them and I would rather make more money then lose money chasing the little #%$&$&!

    Just my two cents worth!

      Hi Robert,

Thank you so much for your inputs, I really appreciate it.

I already know this guy is with Hostgator, so I will try to contact HG later.

I totally agree with you, no need to stress over this thing. Actually I never check such thing, I accidentally discovered this because this site ranks better than me on my targeted keyword, and when I clicked on to read his article, I was shocked to find out that it is EXACTLY the same as the article I wrote except that he uses his own affiliate link.

The site ranks better because he has many backlinks pointing to it.

I then checked other keywords that I rank well and again I was shocked to find out that this same site again ranks better than me by copying my article.

So, it seems like his strategy is to steal other people content and then build backlinks to gain high ranking - GOOD STRATEGY... duplicate content MYTH BUSTED AGAIN... BACKLINK ROCKS... LOL

    Wrays,
Plus, the one with the most backlinks is usually seen as the authority when the content is identical so he gets the credit for it and you are considered the "dup" from what you are describing.

    Good luck to you,

    Robert

It's beyond me why he takes the RISK by stealing other people content and spend time building links to get high ranking... why not spend sometimes to modify the articles since he already spending time building links.

I see your point but he may have a "bot" that just grabs content and automatically creates backlinks for him. I know those scripts are out there for sure.

You go into webmaster tools and there's a report a site to Google link. But you do need to be reporting your own content being plagiarised and you do need to issue a DMCA to Google.
