Noticed something? Warrior Forum Icon Changed...

Hey!

If you look at the website title on the tabs in latest IE or Firefox, you can see an icon in front of all pages of a website, which can be custom designed.

Warrior Forum logo has been a hot red WF logo in a rectangular box, but seemingly it has changed to a cool new bluish-grey colored 3D representation.

Makes a website instantly look cool, doesn't it?

So just wanted to tell you how you can get a custom logo showing along with your website title...

First of all, you would want to create a cool little image of a very small size (Icons are small... )... 16 X 16 pixels. This image would be your icon, so please be careful about what you are using. Name that image as favicon .

Now most images are in the gif, jpg, jpeg, bmp, png etc. formats. But you will need to change the format of the favicon file to ico so that the file name becomes favicon.ico .

This is done easily in Vista by simply renaming, but in XP you will most probably need to use the command prompt for this. Locate your file and then use this command...

ren favicon.jpg favicon.ico

Mac users, I really have never used a mac and I apologize I can not tell you how to change a file format in mac.

Once you have your icon with the name favicon.ico you are ready to upload it. Simply upload it into the root directory (Top Level)... generally inside the public_html folder on your server space.

This way it should be accessible at http://yourdomain.com/favicon.ico

Check this out... http://warriorforum.com/favicon.ico

That's all you need to do in order to have a custom iconalong with your website title in the tab/bar.

Most modern browsers automatically pick that icon up when your prospects are visiting your website giving you a comprehensively professional appeal.

Hope this helps you somehow
