How To Use A $1,000 Marketing Budget
Hi Warriors

If you had $1,000 to invest in your online business how would you spend it?

Would you:
Buy targeted traffic? if yes who would you buy that traffic from?
Do an Adwords Campaign?
Carry out Ad Network promotion?
Invest in creating your own product?
Take an online marketing course? or
Any other form of marketing you care?

Please share your thoughts.

First I will buy good domain names for CPA offers and make Wordpress blogs with unique content. After that I will make backlinks and use Adwords to bring targeted traffic. This may be a common method. But very easy to cover ROI within a short time.
Most of online marketing courses are having basic methods. So we must try to save money from those things. Warrior forum is enough for IM.

  • I would probably set those funds aside to pay my hosting bill, my AWeber account, my domain renewals and my other subscriptions for the next year (actually, it wouldn't quite run to a year, but that's the idea). Then, with that worry taken care of, I'd concentrate on product creation, knowing that I'd be developing assets for my business.

I believe I will strongly invest it in creating another product.

Another product to add to the product line, another product to create another sustainable business.

Here is exactly what I would do.

I would create a free product to give away in my niche, a very good one preferably a 7 day video series. I would also have a cheap one time offer after they opt in

A really valuable one, I would then create about 7 days of follow up, to warm up the list even further. While promoting a cheap product $27-$47

Then I would invest the entire $1,000 in advertising, between facebook, yahoo, msn, and google.

Depending on the niche will basically determine the size of the list, so lets say at a minimum you get $1 per subscriber per month. Some of my lists are around $2-5 per member per month.

So lets say you get 500 people on your list for $1,000 that list will pay you if marketed to right should earn you $500 per month.

Then use half of what you make from the list every month to buy more visitors to your suite and build your list more.

It's not un common to have a list of 10k people within a year just buying advertising.

If you treat your list right, even if you spend 10k to build that list, you will likely make around 100k from that list..

It may come in a year, it may take 5 years, but from a business standpoint turning 10k into 100k even if it takes 5 years is a pretty solid investment.

First figure out, what type of biz model you are after (affiliate or product creation)

After that, spend just enough to get a site up (wordpress or a fancy website)

Then, invest some money into getting articles (nice source of traffic generation) written for you.

Measure your profits and re-invest some more money into your business.

I would invest in creating my own product, having content created to build a list, and learning about the product launch process.

Their are many income streams online that you can use with a $1000..

Market Research and Demand is always the first step.

Then your traffic layout starts, will it be paid or free.

Would you want to create a sale up front or later.

Would you want to build your email list and reap the rewards later.

Product creation would be a cool model to use with $1000, but it depends on what side of online marketing your passion is. Do you want enjoy and have fun with..

Example Blueprint ... this can be chopped and change

1.. find a hot a niche, keyword research and demand..
2.. setup hosting blog and domain...
3.. create a brand and start a buzz online...
4.. outsource the product creating or try to do it yourself to save cost
5.. using video as a product gives more value to the product
6.. write sale letter or outsource
7.. get some jv and offer 70% commission
8.. get some jv to offer a discount on their product and your add it on you download page as extra bonus offers
8.. don't worry to much about the money upfront, once you have a sale , you have email list that will grow...

        example :

        product sell for $65
        commission is $45.5

your product contains; video tutorials and some mind maps or flowcharts and also some audio ... giving the product some value

the other option is going with CPA and buying traffic from PPV and Media Buying.. or going buying direct from the top websites or blogs that niche market is in..

Have a super cool day ..

You are on the right track Pete.
I think first, I would get educated and wait til the mobile market has proved itself.
Currently it is fairly new, there is a lot of hype going on from the marketers and creators. Promoting mobile ads through the networks can be costly even though the clicks may be cheap. I probably would stick with traditional proven marketing methods as some others have suggested for now.

But for sure mobile is creating a tsunami in the marketplace.

  • Thanks Guys. Some interesting ideas on how to utilize a $1,000 investment.
Quite a few of you are keen to create your own product.

As I mainly do affiliate marketing I suppose I would invest in buying targeted traffic and building lists, but I'm not sure whether to invest in Adwords, Yahoo or Bing or to do network advertising.

What type of paid traffic sources would you buy?

I invest in yahoo msn and bing, facebook ads, and google image ads (banners) and sometimes ppv and media buys.

I invest as much as I can into advertising to build my list, because I know no matter how much I spend I will make back..

Do a test do $200 with each traffic source and see which one you like the best.

Your keyword bid price will not be the same on all ppc networks... I would start with adwords and create about 3 ads to start of with and then check results next day... test and test check which keywords and ads convert...

        or setup

1 ad on all 3 ppc networks , even if it the same ads, test and test, maybe you get a cheaper bid rate on the one ppc network or you get more clicks from the other... you wont know which ppc networks will give best results.

You have to always change the ad or edit the keywords or increase bids or lowers bids...

Just start with one and take it from their....

I'll tell you what, I'd be very careful what you spend it on!

We tend to think that $$$ will automatically bring us more, if we invest it in the right tools or course. While this certainly can be true, you need to make sure you are buying something that is

    1) a good fit for your business
    2) something you have the time and willingness to implement yourself.

Otherwise, its just a waste of money!

You could also spend it on content to grow your business. Content is king
