Hey, Article Writers...Stay Away From Those Boring Sominex Titles!

You don't see them on tv too much anymore. But when I was growing up, commercials for a sleep medication called Sominex constantly filled the airwaves. In fact, I still remember the hypnotic jingle to the commercial:

Take Sominex tonight and sleep. Safe and restful, sleep, sleep, sleep...

So what does a sleep medication have to do with writing articles?

Well, if your articles aren't getting read, it could be because your article titles are so boring they're putting readers to sleep. Seriously though, if you want people to read your articles, the first thing you have to do is get their attention.

And the best way to do that is with compelling article titles. Stay away from boring, unimaginative titles that are likely to be ignored or skimmed over. Get readers excited! More importantly, get their attention!

Are you attracted to boring article titles? Of course not, and neither are your readers.

The next time you're standing in line at the supermarket checkout counter, pay attention to the headlines on the magazines and tabloid covers. Notice how they literally reach out and grab your attention? Well, your article titles need to do the same thing.

So when writing your articles, don't treat your titles as an afterthought. Put on your thinking cap, and be creative!

I've actually found great ideas from some of the titles Warriors use to start threads in this forum.

Also, MSN articles usually have good titles. You can't miss them if you use Hotmail.
