eBay or Amazon, Which Makes You More?

For me it's ebay.

My early Amazon sites didn't do so well so I changed everything over to eBay.

Now I am getting slicker at creating this type of site I am liking the way that with Amazon there is greater control over what items I have on the site, as the listings are not temporary, and don't rely on set search parameters to bring back items.

I am moving a few sites over to Amazon to test this out, but would be really interested to hear from anyone who has tried both.

Which is more profitable for you?

PS. I am talking about the affiliate programs, not actually selling my own goods on auctions or marketplace.

They don't tell you anymore since Quality click pricing. I like ebay, its easy to make money with and gets really good clickthrough rate.

I don't do a single thing with eBay and I never will, I had a falling out with them about 12 years ago... so the answer is Amazon!

Steven, that is some grudge you're holding ;-)

I like eBay, it's filled with buyers for anything and everything.

When I think of Amazon, I think of books, as that is the only
      product they ship overseas.

how can you uplaod products via ebay once you joined. Is it as simple as like popshops?

eBay has their traffic quality mechanism, so it will he hard to get valid answers for this question even if we are talking about pushing the same niche.

I'm not sure how one would quantify this, but my gut feeling is that Amazon is working better for traffic that knows exactly what they want (though may need a slight nudge) and not just window shopping or endlessly looking for a steal (such as a used one on eBay).

I setup each site as new campaign in ebay and it tells me each month to the penny how much it made. Not sure what you mean about amazon working better for traffic. Have you ever used either of them?

If you and I are promoting red widgets and your traffic is from source A and mine from source B, it is entirely possible that each program performs the opposite for us all other things being equal. In that regard it is difficult to get a valid answer to your question.

I was speaking in terms of traffic profiling.
