Information Release Timing by Topic

Does anyone know of a resource that would list the popularity of topics/activities by day of the week?

I'm looking for something that might offer some insight into which day of the week might be the best day to release new information on a topic. Obviously, it could be released on any day and people will find it when they find it, but if you want people to come to your site on a regular basis, it be nice to have a posting schedule that would correspond to popularity.

For example, if people tend to have picnics on Saturdays, they might look for picnic information on Fridays. So, it might be useful to release new picnic information every Friday.

To explain further, let's say I have a site on cooking. On the day they visit the site, I want to freshest information to be of the most relevance to them. So, if I released a picnic article on Thursday, when they visit the site on Friday, some other topic is going to be on top. I want the top item to be that which is most relevant to what they might be looking for on that day. So, in this case, I would want to have the new picnic article on Friday rather than Thursday.

Are you looking to find a script that would automate this for you?

IE: Halloween is coming, so articles about costumes and treats and scary things post to the front of the site?

And, are these articles going to be on the site year round where they float to the front at the right time? Or will it be fresh content that will post on the right date? Because the latter can be done with a blog obviously.

Or are you just looking for someone else who is doing this?

For a generic site, I would "imagine" a keyword triggered script might be formulated.

      This one.

Scheduling is already built into my code. I just set the day I want it to go live and it does. I just need to know what day is best to release what information.

I could figure that out over time by studying the stats on my site, but if that kind of information is already compiled somewhere, it gets me started on the right foot.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

        Dan,

If you can figure that out so it actually works as designed, please send me a PM.

I'm headed to the racetrack this weekend and I could really use your psychic powers...

I'm also going to recommend you to my stock broker. His dart board sucks.

    I just found this site:

The top internet keywords for today - 08.03.10

Don't know how accurate it is but I've been checking it out.
