eBay partnership not allowed on wordpress blogs??

Hi,
I just got turned down by eBay parnership program because I am using a wordpress blog. Not a wordpress MU but my own blog, on my own domain name!

Is that possible?

Thank you in advance for your advice

Hard to say why you got turned down with out seeing your blog. Was the blog relevant to the products you wanted to promote on Ebay?

I was also wondering this, as I also got turned down after submitting my request with wordpress blogs of my own, which I thought was pretty good.

Any good ideas on how to get accepted into this network?

I recently got accepted, and I was using a Wordpress blog.

Do you have some good quality post on your site? Or just a landing page?

When you apply to a program like that, someone is going to look at your site - if it looks to spammy, your probably going to get denied.

Do you have unique content on your site, or just a bunch of RSS feeds and auto-posters?

Can you give us the URL to the site?

      Think about what eBay sells.

You have a site about tips for targeted web traffic.

It's not that you have a blog. Doesn't matter if you have a privacy policy or a hundred policies.

Try again with a quality site that attracts people interested in X, where you can offer the opportunity for people to buy X if they click on a link to eBay.

And, frankly, it is a poor looking blog. It's not the type of website that is going to generate repeat traffic. So don't just create the same type of website more targeted to a product category, because I'm confident that eBay won't approve that either.

    Big Tip:

Wordpress is fine. Just don't submit a site with advertisements or offers.
Have quality content and you will get accepted with ease..

    Hope this helps.

Two things I would recommend is a "Contact Us" page with cform or another free plugin and a Privacy Policy Page, the privacy link at the bottom appears to be broken. I know the big G requires them but not sure about eBay. They may think that "website traffic" your niche is not really related to products they list.

    Hey thanks for that!!
Yes, I have been wondering about the privacy policy link.
I am going to work on that.

Your home page - freewebtrafficgeneration.org has no content on it.

    Web Stats not enabled

Your hosting account does not have statistics enabled. To enable statistics, perform the following steps:

    1. Log in to your Account Manager.
    2. Under the Hosting & Email section, select Hosting Account List.
    3. Next to the hosting account you want to modify, click Open.
    4. Under the Web Statistics section of the Hosting Manager, click the Statistics Configuration icon.
    5. Check the Enable Web Statistics checkbox.
    6. Configure the Web Statistics options and click the Continue button.
I can understand why they denied you.

I suggest you move wordpress up to the html/ root and put your content there. Or install another CMS and use wordpress as your blog.

      Hey thanks for that!
I enabled the stats. How is that going to change things?
I have no clue of how to move my whole wp blog to the root directory...

I have had several eBay partner sites on my own domains probably for around 18 months now and have never had problems. I doubt that Wordpress is your problem.

Make sure you are following the eBay guide lines with plenty of good, unique content also that you have the Contact Us, Disclaimer and Privacy Pages in place.

Make it look like an informative site where people would go for information and not just a few words about something inappropriate to the website subject and having loads and loads of eBay Ads.

If you get knocked back again leave for a few weeks and try again.

          Thanks very much guys...

I just finished revamping the site with a new wp theme...It took me hours to find the right template...In the future I might want to buy a super cute one but for the moment, this one seems just fine.

It's not wordpress, it's your content. Brian is right on. Your site is about web traffic and it's not what they look for, so why would eBay approve it?

ePN/eBay rejects most all new sites now if you don't at least try to show what you're doing as an affiliate.

I have many eBay niche sites using Wordpress without any problems so no it's not because of wordpress.

So do you recommend having a good solid content site (niche specific?) but without Adsense type stuff, or by saying that you "try to show what you're doing as an affiliate" there should be some reviews, or ads or something that would help - I got turned down too, lol.

I recommend having a good solid content site. And, make the site about something that is sold on eBay, preferably a physical product. I used to get people accepted into EPN, and I had over 90% success doing what I just stated.

A little off topic, but has anybody noticed tremendous activity on eBay in the last few days? My sites with EPN have been off the charts since 1 August. I usually make about $500/month on my sites and I've made $350 in 3 days. I'm not sure what's wrong but I like it!

Sorry man, I have to agree with kindsvater. The contents of the blog probably did not meet eBay's standards of quality for entry into the program. They are a lot more critical of people's work than they once were.
