Is bloggging the same or similar to IM?

I tend to see blogging being thrown in every now and then with IM, but are they really the same or do they overlap?

I'm trying to start my own blog about my interests and well I've been looking at several blogs and thought if they can do it, so can I.

P.S. if anyone sends me PMs with advice, I can not respond to them since my post count isn't high enough yet.

Blogging is bandied about a lot and so has lost its meaning and importance a bit.

In reality a blog is just another way to create a webpage which allows some interaction.

Because each of these webpages can then be posted on the same page either in all their glory or as summaries they tend to get picked up a lot by the search engines.

It is the targeted content that is provided within these web pages that makes them so successful in any field including the IM niche.

There are so many free blogging platforms like wordpress, blogger, typepad, drupal and then you can also load many of these on your own domain.

Linking the wordpress software with a domain is a very powerful system which will not only provide you with a powerful blogging system but also a powerful CMS.

So as to your question is blogging and IM the same and the answer is yes however one is the industry Internet Marketing and Blogging is a tool to accomplish Internet Marketing.

I definitely don't think that blogging is internet marketing. I think blogging can be used as a tool to market, however, by having your own blog you are not necessarily an internet marketer.

There are so many bloggers out there that do it just for the joy of blogging about what they love. They never try to market or sell anything.

With my blog, for instance, the main purpose of it is not to market to people. I originally started it as somewhat of a diary to log my progress and to reteach what I've learned along the way. I do use it to market my products but it wasn't the original intention of the site. Still, to this day, marketing is a secondary goal of my blog.

Blog is your own social media platform. This is one of the best ways to attract people online.

You definitely need to start your own blog, if you want to establish a long lasting online present. This will be your tool to get people to your list, to do the market research by different surveys and polls.

I think you have to look at all of these as media channels, just as an advertiser would look at tv, radio, press or web sites. They are all just ways of getting your message out there and getting people to take action. Blogging with, for example a wordpress blog is in my opinion the quickest way to get noticed as well as putting a video on You Tube and posting on Twitter and Facebook.

People blog for different reasons and one of the reasons is Internet Marketing. I use mostly blogs for IM, but some people blog just because they've got something they want to talk about. Blogs are a great platform for Internet Marketing.
