You don't really need a broker. You could use Flippa and do it yourself.

Putting a website for sale is possible through a number of websites like wesellyourwebsite, sedo, domaining etc.

The site which needs to be on sale is firstly checked, reviewed & verified by the brokers then it goes for the selling process.

Most of the brokerage sites just waste your time & will lead to misleading results, in this case the site ranking goes down. Still there are the ways, you can try through the above given sites.

Why don't you just sell your websites on eBay? Go and have a look. A lot of other people are already doing just that and is making a tidy income from generating a keyword rich niche specific website and then selling it on eBay.

An example is the huge amounts of websites that were available recently with Michael Jackson's passing. One guy was churning out sites and selling them.

I am on the mailing list for quietlightbrokerage.com but I am looking to buy! They seem very professional in the way they package all of the information together with a list of serious buyers.

I am making the assumption that yours is a high value site! If i'm wrong then use flippa.

    Hi there,
There are a few questions that I feel inclined to ask.

What are you looking for as far as the end user?
What is the projected amount of money you are looking to gain?
Why are you selling? Is this a rinse and repeat process?
Do you have a Executive Summary?
A road map for the next buyer?
Are you willing to sign exclusive right to sell to one broker or how many people do you want for this endeavor?
    Is this a private sale?
How much leeway will be given to the broker, as far as utilizing resources?

    Ok, 20 questions over

ok I may be able to answer a few questions....some I don't exactly know what you mean...for instance what is executive summary include exactly?
I am looking ahead to retirement...so in looking ahead I need to learn what to do in future or near future.
I have info product site that is worth over a 500,000.00 .estimated...so maybe my question should not only be should I use a broker to sell business but also what do I need to have in place or know prior to selling?

    Georgette,
An Executive Summary might be better described as a blueprint for the next owner. Basically are you just selling as is and they can do what they want with it.

Where are you getting the estimation? Sometimes we think our properties are more than one other might think the worth.

I think you need to get your eggs together and come to a full circle in regards to what you want vs. what you need and be realistic.

So my challenge for you: Sit down, scrutinize all the loops to see the outcome for you. Write a quick summary, possibly a business plan for the next person. What worked for you to maintain the success, etc..

    Thanks,

I think bizbuysell would be the best route in this case. Much more professional than flippa where there are to many tire-kickers.

A good broker will also help you prepare, or at least tell you and offer you tutorials, on how to "present" your site, including extra documentation, etc.

So if I was you, I'd talk to a few brokers, and they'll help you with the next steps.

    cheers
