What to do with this URL?

I just got a cease and desist letter from the company that makes the products I'm promoting on one of my sites. (my first post to this point was deleted and I have to guess it had something to do with the link to the site so no link in this one)

I'm wondering if there's any value in the URL? Would it be too audacious to offer to sell it to the company that sent the cease and desist?

just tell them that you will give them the domain name but will have to charge an Admin fee of <insert price here> :-)

I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

You can always try to spell out a link, instead of using the entire URL that begins with http://

I would suggest letting them decide the value by putting the domain up for sale through a broker or escrow service. Register with sedo.com, point the nameservers for your domain to Sedo, and set the minimum price to $500 or whatever you like, then inform the company that you have decided to immediately sell the domain name at auction. They won't be able to do much to stop you before the auction is over, and once it is, hopefully it will be sold and they'll no longer be dealing with you (you won't be the owner).

On the other hand that company may not be interested in buying the domain, so if the auction does not produce a sale, you can either keep renewing the domain, cut your loss and let it expire, or ask the company to pay you a small monthly fee for a 301 redirect to their product sales page. Somehow I'm sure you can make money in this situation.

Good stuff, Awesometbn. I was afraid to even spell out a link because I didn't want the thread to disappear again.

      Here goes: redcrossradio (dot) com

As to selling the URL on redo, my fear would be that it's already "tainted", and that I wouldn't be able to pawn it off in good conscience.

Alright, I figured out why my original post was deleted and it wasn't the link. So, here's the link to the site in question: redcrossradio.com
