I know exactly what Michael and his family are going through! I had to have neck surgery over a year ago, and wasn't able to get back to "normal" after that. I've been struggling with my health ever since, and am JUST NOW starting to snap out of it, praise the Lord!

I don't have much, but I wanted to give what I can, so of course I have donated. May he and his family find peace and prosperity, and may the Lord double all that has been taken from them.

You never know how things go... the mental and emotional stress of illness can take its toll. Besides, once you lose momentum it can be hard to regain.

Sounds like this is part of a major life lesson for Michael... I hope hes getting what he needs on all levels, and I will send prayers and a healing.

For those wondering why we should help an apparent stranger - it's already been said but it obviously needs saying again.

Being a nice guy and helpful person and making money on the Internet doesn't make you immune to life's problems.

I was making 6 figures online and still in massive debt and could easily have been in Michaels position if a serious health problem had occured.

Making $10k a month (or whatever) online is not much different than what you can earn from a j.o.b - the issue is that whatever your income your lifestyle adapts to consume it.

I remember when I was a teenager considering joining the Navy, I thought 400 pounds ($800) a month would be great with no debts and hardly any bills to pay. Well, needless to say - $400 a month 15 years later wouldn't have even come close to paying the interest on my debts, let alone the debts or normal expenses of living.

You shouldn't be asking "if he's such a good guy and IMer, why does he need money" you should be looking at this community and seeing that he's obviously helped a lot of people and a lot of people want to help him back now that he's in need of some good friends.

You can tell what a person is like by the people that are their friends.

There are some VERY important lessons to take away from this situation, not least that the more you help others, the more others will help you, but that your focus on money should be more than just what you can make today - if life throws a spanner in your works, how long can you last on your current plan?

What Mike said about every little counting really is true - most of us have our money tied-up in our lives and the things we want to do, so no-one will think less of you if your contribution is small - the fact that you care is helpful in itself, the medical community has barely scratched the surface of what is possible with the power of positive thought and sending prayers and good vibes to others.

ANY money you can donate WILL make a difference.

If it was YOU or someone you love, what would you want to happen?

I love every person who has supported Michael in whatever way they can - and whatever you do, spread the word and when you help others, have them pay it forward and direct them back here.
