Free Webinar Software

Hey guys,

I'm sure someone has already talked about it. But just in case I thought that I'd bring it up. If you haven't noticed (I don't know how you can't have), Webinars have become increasingly popular over the past year. The most popular software to use is the GoToWebinar software and that usually costs anywhere from $99 to about $500 for the most expensive package.

There is however a free webinar software known as freebinar which allows up to 150 attendees. I haven't actually used the software myself but people who have used it has said that it's pretty good. This is probably more for newbies who are just getting started with webinars.

Best Wishes to you all

Junior

For me, GoToWebinar is still the most stable and quality portal. You are getting for what you are getting most of the time

Yeah I do agree, and in the long term I would use GoToWebinar. However, I think this is a great tool that can be used to become accustomed to using webinars trying out the different formats and hopefully starting to make a little bit of money.

Hey John that looks awesome. I'll definitely check out MeetingBurner.com. I'm sending you a PM. I would like to possibly introduce your product to a few corporate accounts.

John that is one fast screen sharing app! That's even faster than Goto Meeting. Do you have 1 second delay going on because it feels fast. I believe most webinar screensharing is around 2 second delay.

You need to keep me in the loop on this app.

This is slightly off topic, but I've tried Mike Filsaime's Evergreen Business System automated webinar solution.

I had quite an horror story.

I tested the thing through and through, and on my first schedule webinar, with over 200 people registered, they server "slowed down" and half of my people couldn't get it.

Their technical support staff said they had "hiccups".

It cost me at least $700 in sales, based on the sales I did get from the people who could load the thing.

Anyway, just make sure the solution you for can handle the traffic you intend to send to it.

Yeah, super cheap prices but I couldn't get Meetcheap to work on a Mac running both 10.5.8 and 10.6 even though they said it would work.

There are lots of cheap or free live webinar services for small groups, which is okay for me when I do my paid coaching program that is 10 to 30 people, but for my free sales webinars I'm trying to find something reasonably priced that can handle 300 to 500 attendees and I haven't found that yet. Any suggestions?

        Thanks

Tried Meetingburner and I think it's good stuff. I haven't tried Freebinar (anymeeting) at all yet although even the paid plans look pretty good.

Since having a good platform for this is super important, I'm a little hesitant to give up gotowebinar. Has anyone had a good experience with Anymeeting?

Freebinar is now called Anymeeting.com? I haven't tried them yet but see post below for questions and answers I asked them today...

Below are questions I sent to Anymeeting.com (formally freebinar.com) with their answers. I only wish they offered a plan with more than 200 seats but everything else looks good and they always reply really fast to questions.

Here are my questions and their answers...

Thank you for contacting us today. We will attempt to answer your questions as best as possible.

              1) "Can I password protect a live webinar?"

There is definitely a way for you to password protect your meetings. This can be done during the Registration step of scheduling a meeting. At the very bottom of that page, you will see an option asking "Do you need password protection for this webinar?" If you select "Yes, I would like to require attendees to enter a password in order to log-in to this webinar. I understand that each attendee must choose their own password when registering.", then password protection for your meeting will have been turned on. Please note that to avoid the "sharing" of login information for any meetings, our system checks for duplicate email addresses when participants log into the meeting. Each email address is associated with one password, so once a person signs in with their email address and password, no one else can use that combination.

              2) "I do NOT want my viewers to see who is attending my webinar and I do NOT want them to see the number of people attending my webinar. In other words: I, as moderator, want to be the ONLY human that can see both who is attending and the number of people attending. Is that possible?"

For scheduled meetings, by default, attendees will not be able to see the list of people attending your webinar and only presenters will have access to that.

              3) "Can I share my desktop with viewers and how much of a lag is there?"

You can definitely share your desktop using the screen sharing feature. However, the amount of lag you will experience depends entirely on the upload speed of your internet connection.

              4) "Will my viewers be able to hear me?"

Your viewers will definitely be able to hear you. You have the option of being able to choose between two audio input sources: VoIP (where you use your computer microphone) or conference calling (where you use your phone). Please note that you will only be able to use one audio source at a time.

              5) "I will be opening up my webinar to questions later but I do NOT want my viewers to see the questions that others are asking. Is it possible that I am the ONLY one that can see their questions?"

Yes, you can set the chat privacy levels so that attendees can only speak with the presenters, thus preventing attendees from seeing anybody else's conversations other than their own.

              6) "If during my paid-for members-only webinars I see someone that is not a paid customer, can I kick them out of my webinar?"

You can disconnect any attendee you wish at any time during your meeting.

              7) "Can my webinars be viewed on both Apple and Android mobile devices?"

Unfortunately, webinars done through AnyMeeting can only be viewed on devices that support Adobe Flash, so it will not work on Apple mobile devices such as the iPad or iPhone. But it should work on any other device supporting Adobe Flash.

              8) "Is there anything my viewers will have to download in order to attend my webinar?"

Your attendees will need to make sure to have a recent version of Adobe Flash installed on their computers, which most users already do nowadays.

              9) "Is there technical support for my webinars? If so, what are the hours and days support is available and how can I contact you?"

You can contact us by visiting our support site at the following link: Select a department - Powered by Kayako Fusion Help Desk Software . You can contact us at any time of the day you wish, but please note that it may take up to 48 hours for a response for your ticket. However, it usually never takes that long.

10 ) "I expect my free sales webinars to have as many as 300 to 500 viewers but my paid members only webinars will only have 10 to 30 people. Do you have a plan that fits that?"

AnyMeeting's maximum capacity is 200 participants, and there is currently no option to expand this. We regret any inconvenience that this may cause.

              11) "Do you have a screenshot so I can see how visible the ads are?"

You can see a screen shot of how visible the ads are by viewing the following link: What do the advertisements look like in my meetings? - Powered by Kayako Fusion Help Desk Software

I have used Mikogo, they are pretty decent for a free webinar software... they also have a paid version.

I looked at MeetingBurner - Fast and free online meetings and webinars, looks really good.

I also looked into meetcheap but have not used them yet either. If anyone has used either one one these any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Join.me Pro is worth checking out. $149/year for 250 participants. I've used their free ad-hoc service and it works very well.

I tried MeetingBurner and to be honest, I didn't like the service.... the delay was 3-5 seconds, and you need to call with a pin if you want voice in your webinar!!! I simply don't understand why their software client can't just take the voice from the microphone. And for people outside US, like me, is expensive to keep a 1 or 2 hour international call.

also, your audience needs to play a "listen" button in order to hear you...... a lot of people won't be that much looking why they can't hear.... they'll just left the webinar...

I mean... how many webinars have you attended that can sell or transmit your message without voice?

    I'll stick with goToWebinar...

Some great software for webinars. I have never considered having a webinar but it something I would like to look into.
From most of the webinars I have attended. Gotowebinar seems to be the main one used.
