a Few questions regarding hosting provider

It is time to renew my hosting account. I am currently with hostmonster, and haven't had any problem with them. But, since I am new to the whole thing, I like to learn a little about the hosting situation. I would appreciate any input from experienced warriors. Here are a few questions I have in my mind right now:
Is it hard or a lot of headache to switch your host, or can it be done in a few minutes with a few clicks?

If you find a cheaper deal, is it worth the headache (if any at all) to switch?

Does switching your hosting company effect anything about your site (seo, traffic and etc)? (I know switching your host probably wont effect anything, but again, since I am still a newbie, Maybe there are thing I dont know about.

Thank you in advance.

Your new web host should be happy to move the sites for you. Most provide this for free, so don't cancel your existing account until you've signed up with a new provider.
There shouldn't be any effect on SEO at all, and no noticeable downtime.

Here are some current web hosting coupons for cheap deals.

Well, it depends on what kind of site you're trying to move. If your site is just another content site in HTML, it won't be a big deal moving it. But if it's a database driven site, then you probably will need expert help to make sure it goes smooth. And if you're on Wordpress then there are tools to help you export your blog.

As far as the hosting goes, I would say hostgator.com is the best that has worked for me.

Thanks for the response Mustafa. I have a wp blog. By "tools", do you mean some kind of plug-in or something like that? I am not a very technical [person, so I am kind of afraid of doing it alone (lol).

If anyone else has anything to add, please do so. Iappreciate your help guys.
