INTERNET MARKETING

hi

i changed hosting and now my ebook website is not working

can some one please help me out

i have 2 of them

1ebook1dollar.com

ebookbed.com

these are the same script

1 comes up with errors and the other one dont come up at all just errors

can some one please help me here

Just read what it tells you!

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'eb_eb1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/eb/public_html/includes/functions/database.php on line 12
Unable to connect to database server!

So it cant connect to the Database - check the username/password you entered in the config php file somewhere. Also remember you need to prefix user and db name with the account/cpanel username like this:

username_dbname

For the other one, the error could not really be much clearer could it?

"Warning: The downloadable products directory does not exist"

...so create it.

  hi right now i am getting these errors

  Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php.

  the last 2 errors are in the configure file i beleave but not sure what or where to make the changes

well all you had to do is a backup before u changed the hosts... so now you should import it in the new host... You did a backup ?

  yes i pulled a copy of the script from the place i used to have it hosted with
  
  and i made a backup copy of the database to
  
  and then i uploaded it to the new hosting
  
  and now its not working right
  
  this is why i dont understand it is not working right

See this on homepage :
Warning: The downloadable products directory does not exist: /home/e1/public_html/1ebook1dollar.com/download/. Downloadable products will not work until this directory is valid.

i guess you dont have that directory, you should make it

log in the ftp , and simple create it there a new folder with name Download

well i dont know whats the problem then, i advise you to get help from a php guru since i am not a guru kinda, but i can give u a tip.. i always do it from scratch again if something is not working... is best method for you too... to make the sites from scratch again...

The path location on your old hosting server and your new hosting server is likely different... Check that paths are indicated correctly in your configuration files...

Also, your database may be configured differently... Check your sql database, user info, and password to make sure they are correct...

Also look at installed modules... the new server may have php4 only and the previous had php5, or vice versa... Common issue...

But like the OP said, you have to chase errors and fix one at a time...

Sharing precise errors here will help those in the know be able to help you resolve issues more quickly...

If I were a betting man, I would take the first possibility...
