The person with the best idea (in terms of speed of setup, visual appeal, and expenses) will win $10, paid via PayPal. Here is the particular need:

I have a website that I would like to add a sort of directory feature too. The site is currently running on Wordpress, so integration with that would be ideal. There will be 50 to 100 categories, and each category would have 6 pages that would be constant. So for example:

Category 1= Widget - Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Orange, Black
Category 2= BMW - Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Orange, Black

I would like the category page to have a picture and title that would take them to what would resemble a profile page.

Ideally, a set text would be uploaded as well for the title, content, and metatags.

    Holla allthesp,

Starting with a website with wordpress on it is a great thing & as you stated previously, that the site contains wordpress & is category based, then you can move on for a codex widget in your wordpress, which not only improves the look but also adds a sidebar widget to see the category tag cloud.

One more thing about category based websites is AVH extended widget which helps in overall customization of the site look where categories are present.

You can browse wordpress widgets to find this plugin & get a cool look of your website.

What you're looking for is really a wordpress site that is organized by manipulating their "posts" function. Like Trucker said (because I don't want to take away from his fire) you would set up all 100 categories and then create posts for them that go with that category (the different colors for instance) A category page has a certain styling to it and this could be manipulated through the Wordpress code to display just as you want - set up like a profile.

These are all fairly simple tasks for the right freelance coder (go to odesk.com and post a job there) but you will still need to enter all of the information in.

Another way to handle it is to manipulate an existing plugin to suit your needs like an ecommerce plugin or review site plugin.

There are a few plugins that will do both of these things. And if you had everything formatted PERFECTLY, you could import all this content as a spreadsheet (but there's still the work of making these spread sheets).

So to sum up: What you're asking for is quite simple but there is still quite a bit of time getting everything set up.

Let me know if you'd like more help with this.

If you have anymore details about themes, plugins, or whatnot then I am definitely interested in hearing about your idea. Send me a message and if it looks easy enough to accomplish then you've got the $10.

Any other ideas out there? If you want to keep it private you can PM me also.

To give an idea of what I am looking for, here is a theme that has category page laid out like I was looking for:

    Portfolio Gallery Theme Demo

As you can see there can be 6 pages per category that show up with a picture. I was looking to use Thesis theme however. If anyone has a suggestion for a plugin and a way to set up the blog that could very well be the ticket.

Alternatively, any sites that are laid out like that but look better.
