Lead-sources -- Where to find businesses in TROUBLE?

For a new business I'm launching I'd like to find real businesses in trouble...

Google adwords would be one easy source...

but not everyone who's in trouble goes looking for help -- they're in denial.

So I'm wondering if there's a way to cross-reference forclosure lists (which I think are public records, not sure) or some other trouble-indicator with a business owner list, and then we have a list of leads to market to.

Any ideas?

There are a number of good resources, but one of the best is bankruptcy attorneys, specializing in Chapter 11 bankruptcies. Those businesses really do need help, and at that stage can no longer deny it.

Lots of ways... One is to find collection companies and weasel your way into them -- I will leave it to you to figure out how :-) Another way is to actually start your own collection agency - I have a buddy who did this and it turns out now that is his main biz...

The attorney idea is good... Also, getting in with CPA's I have a buddy who owns a CPA firm who has 2000 biz clients... A lot of them are in trouble.

There are some other ways, but they are a little more sketchy...
