Hi All,

I posted in another thread and included this link. www.MyIpNeighbors.com where you can find how many other sites are sharing on your hosting account.

Bob said this link deserves it's own thread so here it is.

My point was that even some BIG names are on shared hosting.

    They list a Northern Equipment as being on this server/ip....it's not.

      That happens frequently.... I've used this tool forever, and there are often glitches similar to that, but they typically only hold any weight to the theory if there is an extension listed.

      I noticed that too. However I was impressed that you only had one neighbor. Many big sites have a LOT of neighbors. One strange thing about your "neighbor" is that there is no link. At first I thought you might have a side business selling tools. LOL

    I think domaintools.com offer the same feature. There's actually a benefit of using shared hosting - you get "lost" among all the other sites. If you have a dedicated server and someone does a reverse lookup they'll find all your other sites. On a shared hosting platform it'll be much more work to find out exactly which sites are yours... That's of course if you don't want to be found.

    P.S. There is another tool that pulls whois and backlinks, along with myipneighbor service in one shot. If anyone knows what it is and could list it, you are the shiznit! (I've been trying to find it for ages; asked around to no avail)

    That company might have registered the IP at one point and when they stopped using it, they never modified the DNS.

    Damn! I just found a bunch of hidden niches some big name gurus are in using this tool. How do I know it's their site? Cause they signed their name at the end of the sales letter. Haha!

    My sites are all hosted on separate C class IP's so I don't leave any trails.

        I thought the IP neighbors on my hosts was interesting.

        REPEAT FROM OTHER THREAD:
        IP Neighbors -- I checked 3 sites
        1and1.com site had 128 sharing with me. I thought this was a lot
        edson.net (don't try them) 60 sharing old company I've been with for years
        godaddy.com a WHOPPING 562 sharing with me

        I hope Godaddy has allocated the bandwidth for all of those in my neighborhood

    Here's a similar site that I've used in the past. I always like to use two different sites when doing lookups like these because the results are not always accurate.
