How's it going, I was wondering how many characters would you recommend in a domain name, from what I have heard it's best to keep them under 20 characters.

Thank you.

Doesn't matter if it's a keyword-based domain. If it's a branding domain, the shorter the better.

When considering domains, people focus way too much on branding when they should be focusing on popular keywords instead. RARELY do I actually type in a domain name I have seen except for huge brands like facebook, apple, etc.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

I buy domain names that are exact keyword matches so the length is irrelevant. If I want to brand a site, I use a branded domain and go for short, so it all depends on what you're after.

I also suggest using exact-match keyword domains. I'd probably cap the length at 4 words. Any longer that that and I feel they start to look spammy.

When buying a keyword rich domain, how would you prioritise the domain extension?

    .com ranks 1st.

What position would you place the following?

    .org
    .net
    .info

also, are localised domain extensions even better than those. ie. :

    .co.uk
    .us

    etc etc.

There's probably not a hard and fast rule, but what are your opinions on this?

I am waiting for the user enabled domains, miss.you.

Domain name length does matters in case of a product / service or when a brand comes into consideration.

If the domain length is too long, there is a common feeling that the site owner has not taken any appropriate step to think while choosing it for a productive use.

there is a very domain, wesellyourwebsite, it is also doing good with the web brokerage, so the length in some cases doesn't matters.
