Is your business 'halved' with a business partner? or solo?

Is anyone in a business partner deal with their internet marketing?

Are you doing your online profit generation of affiliate sales, product sales, website traffic generation etc on your own? or do are you with a business partner?

As many people do joint long term projects which works out better to helping each other out to more progress.

I don't mean quick JV email deals but more of a full committed partner relationship?

If shared have you faced any issues/conflicts? or nothing major and if minor ones come you just discuss and move on?

I've started a couple but they fell through. Sad to say not only do I hate the confines of a job, but performing on time on schedule based on others' expectations bugs me too. I guess I'm just a loner. I do work with my family on different projects but there I'm the boss. Please don't mention that last part to my wife or to Tammy.

I have had bad experiences there too , no matter how good intentions are.

When I was a kid my stepfather told me partnership was bad because "Anything with two heads is a freak", but even more valuable was the advice given to me by a friend who consulted me after a bad partnership experience, and said

"Real business men do 'projects' with people, many different people, they do 'projects' as opposed to 'partnerships'"

In agreement with George. I dont do "answering to people" real well... I like to control my own affairs.

Sometimes you should listen, your comment above sounds very blinkered.

I am in a partnership and generally it works very well. I'd say it all depends on who the partners are before they decide to become partners.

I dont think partnerships are bad , in fact it would be great to make one work... however, I believe its alot like marriage... and that its a really special to find a chemistry that can really last... inevitably when relationships end most of the time it isnt because things were going great. I can believe you have a great partnership... It happens, and just like when it happens to marriage, thats a real good thing and two are better than one.

This is what I do. Just projects.

I've a friend who do well with their partnerships and another friend who think their partners just collect cash. So I guess it's like the outsourcing complains we get here in WF, you don't always find the best writer/VA, or a good business partner, that easy.

Husband and wife working, I have seen this working.

i have several 'managers' industrial partners that run the show for me. yes, I make less. headache is almost zero.

The moment I bark orders or send out stuff we need to do. Someone is there to fully back me up and runs the show.

Less money. but it's low maintenance and helps me afford a 'internet lifestyle' easier.

            Work less, build more.

I work full time IM along with other offline businesses (like small local retail) with my partner. The cons are obvious; disagreements, less profit, having another decision maker and all but the one big pro i've not seen anyone mentioned is the mutual motivation partners can give to each other.

There are definitely times you'll feel demoralized or depressed from not seeing results and this is the time when having another perspective (but with same monetary interests) can come in and give you a lift. I can say that my partner and I would have given up on doing businsses long long ago if it weren't for constant encouragement and motivating provided by one, for the other.

The problem with partnerships is that someone always feels like they are working harder... and they are often RIGHT! And then they start to resent giving half of the profits away...

I work in partnership with someone and it works out perfectly. We have been working together online now since around 2004 and are yet to have an argument. That's pretty unique though so you really have to be lucky and find the right business partner.

It's important to have an excellent plan in place. I have had 2 succesful partnerships and the reason, I believe, they were successful was due to the fact that we utilized eachothers strengths and had a very detailed plan of action. When one would run into issues the other would help pick up the slack. In business or life if you leave failure as an option you will do just that. Same thing with partnerships. Think of it as if you absolutely cannot let the partnership and more importantly your venture fail more than likely it won't.

Too often we partner in order to have someone else to blow our horns with and all we end up doing is making a lot of noise instead of making a melody

and nicheman thats a good plan you have outlines about having a plan.

I guess you guys would have learned alot from the experience of working in a partnership, that some people who single it out wont ever experience or come across,

Hi Matt, I have a short story on partnership, you see when I started my journey my mindset was I cannot do things alone, so I had partners for the small business I started. And even more, I chose my friends as my partner. Later it turned like, we 2 guys are doing the hard work and other 4 are doing nothing.

So it is important to chose a partner who can do that part of the business that you cannot. That's how partnership should go. After failing, I did the same mistake again by partnering with my another friend. That time I was doing all the work and I had to share the profit with him because he was my partner.

One thing is sure that you should not partner people just because he is a friend; and we should not go on JV decisions emotionally.

When you will ever need to think to go on JV, think that the big piece of cake will be divided, and that piece which you will get, is worthy for you?

The best way not to go on JV + achieving some great results is to outsource some rich talent from around the world. Thanks

I don't have a partner. I've seen quite a few threads here with many partnerships that turned disastrous and don't want anything to do with it.

but I strongly prefer employees to partners.
Definitely me too. But it kind of depends on who that partner is. There are some partners you just shouldn't say "no" to

Tried setting up partnerships in the business -- it almost always
goes to s**t. What DOES work (but not as often as I'd like) are
    "individual projects" with different people.

The problem with trying to set up projects is that you often have
to deal with ego, personalities, and wild differences in opinion you
know will screw the project entirely. I'm not talking about opinions
that are different or outside the box thinking, but the kind that
    make you go "what?!".

When I do projects with other people, I've had to deal with major
"knowitall's", alcohol addicts, laziness, and lost of focus.

I'm not perfect. There were rare moments where I knew I was
slacking a little, but all I needed was a little kick in the tail...but
most problems are the ones I can't kick for others.

A few of those traits I had to deal with when trying to work out
some dealings with a few people on this forum whom I won't name.

But I digress. It's all a process, and I currently am working with
ONE actual business partner who is a multi-millionaire and know's
their stuff -- but it has nothing to do with online business.
