USA based Amazon Affiliate Question

Hello, all, my first post! I'm planning on purchasing a WSO on building niche sites and monetizing the site with Amazon links. Seeing how Amazon has terminated it's affiliate programs in three states already, would you want to possibly waste your time building these niche sites only to have your business wiped out overnight?

Im dont entirely understand whether you are asking a question or making a statement. Firstly if you are already a succesfull Amazon affiliate there are ways around that by registering a personal or business address outside of the affected State.

Secondly as an affiliate marketer you should never put all your eggs in one basket. Its not just Amazon, its happens with Google when they have major updates or when a CPA company pulls a certain offer.

Bottom line is you need to diversify or one day you may wake up with no more income coming through regardless of whether its Amazon eBay CPA or Clickbank.

I just got approved for Amazon. When signing up they said residents could not sign up if they lived in Delware and 1 or 2 other states.

        Just Fyi!!

The Colorado law in question is HB 10-1193, which targets sales made by affiliates through out-of-state retailers such as Amazon. Because the affiliate lives in Colorado and is "targeting" other Colorado residents (in sort of a roundabout way via the Internet, since the Internet really targets everyone in the world), state legislators feel that Amazon should collect and pay Colorado sales taxes. Instead of collecting taxes, Amazon just terminated the affiliate program.

North Carolina and Rhode Island joined Colorado.....how many states will follow?

          From the Amazon Affiliates TOS:

In addition, if at any time following your enrollment in the Program you become a resident of Colorado, North Carolina or Rhode Island, you will become ineligible to participate in the Program, and this Operating Agreement will automatically terminate, on the date you establish residency in that state. In addition, you must promptly notify us in writing of your Colorado, North Carolina or Rhode Island residency, which you may do via the Contact Associates Customer Service form available here.

          Will
