Members Only User Registration for Additional Content

Say I've got a small dedicated sales site for a product and I want to make some additional downloadable resources available to registered users only.
Can anyone recommend a script (or commercial software) that can do something like this. I'm happy to pay for a solution that makes the process easy and is well documented, well supported and reliable.
It would need to:
1. Allow users to register for the site (and preferably require them to enter some kind of ID# from their product or invoice) so I can track who is registering.
2. Allow them to access a members-only area of the site with an individual username and password.
3. Integration with MailChimp would be AWESOME but not necessary.
