What Do I Need To Make Money From My Website?

Hi all,

First I would like to thank you all for supporting this amazing forum and helping newbies to make money online.

Well, I have a website that I have been runinng it for about three months now. I am brave enough to say that the problem is that I have not made any money yet. I have tried to run different types of affiliate banners from clickbank but I had no success. I was wondering guys if you could have a look at it and give some suggestions of how I can start making some money from my website.

Just another question. Can I make money from a website or I have to have a list to make money?

My website URL is: Your Internet Marketing Secrets: Internet Marketing Secrets

Could you give me any tip please, please, please....

Any suggestion and help is very appreciated.

Again thank you for making this forum an amazing learning place.

Thank you

I had a look at your website and it seems to me that it is all set up to make money.

Now all you need to do is start promoting your site and start getting some traffic to it and try out different marketing strategies to see which one would work best.

Yes you can make money if your heart is in giving value to people.

You are not niche enough and in too big of a competitive market. Focus on something about IM that you know can hold your interest for a long time, make a product or find a product that fills that niche, build a sales page or review site for that product, drive traffic that site from article marketing. One article per day will have you making money in the next 3 months.

It has taken me a year to learn enough to actually be makin it but I am making it now. No you dont need a list you need a product people are dying to find and is a bit less general than "Internet Marketing". Don't worry about building the list until you are actually making some scratch first.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

Do you think I should create another website focused in a more specific niche? What do you think I should do? Thanks. I appreciate you time and attention.

Yes, for sure. For instance, making money with cell phones is big, if you have something about local businesses making money using social media and cell phones, WOW!. Anything that drills down a bit more than just making money online and has good traffic on the keywords.

See what has high gravity on clickbank and that is the area you should be in. Just go a bit more niche than most people are. Then focus on that only. With a good sales letter you should be converting 1 to 2% of visitors into buyers. How you get your visitors is where you determine how successful you will be. I personally do two things: article marketing (I was already a writer so it's not hard) and valuable blog commenting on high PR blogs with links to my blog (and sales letter link on side of blog). I know each visitor I create is worth about 50 cents so that is how I do the math.

I agree, too much going on it just seems too 'salesy'. Instead just put up an ad and concentrate on a smaller niche. You may want to get out of the IM niche entirely. Just remember to find a hungry market and give 'em what they want.

I agree with all the different comments and advice. As a designer I would remember not to overload the eye with too much info. Most people will click backwards in a second or two if it not clear. Balance is the key. You want to direct the viewer from one point to the next using color, balance, contrast and so on.

Start at the top and move them down the page to your desired out come.

Also, remember the average monitor is only 800px to 1000x wide and they read from left to write. If it collapses, it will collapse to the left.

Here is a link to demonstrate this: Browser Size

Keep this in mind as you layout your page and good luck.

How much traffic do you get to your blog?

You've picked a very competitive niche which you by your own admission know nothing about, maybe you could start off in a niche that you know more about and which is not so competitive then once you have learned the ropes your IM blog will be well aged and ready for you to really make some money with.

The problem with the "make money online" and IM niches is thatthe people in them know how to SEO and promote their blogs properly so you've got a real uphill battle with those niches.

Just a tip , the instant opt-in pop up makes it really annoying for visitors... You should set a delay for it.

Not sure if anyone has said this but the first impression I get is that your site is a little cluttered. My eyes can't decide where to look..which means that the first thing I would do is leave. You need to figure out how to have less stuff distracting from the posts.

Same thought, there is too much going on to be honest.

What keywords are you targeting to get some organic search traffic from?

Also, I didn't find your site too cluttered as some have suggested. I guess these days I have seen far worse. This is more professional than most, yet maybe there are some customizations you could do. You can't skimp on the design either or people notice. How would you rate your design overall compared to other blog websites in your related niche?

I did see that several of your blog posts begin with the words "Your Internet Marketing Secrets" ... you end up with the words "internet marketing secrets" in the url 3 times alone - that might be considered excessive if that's a keyword phrase you're going for.

      ...it is complete BS?

There are lots of ways to promote products without claiming success that you clearly don't have yet.

Right now, as has already been said, your site is confused and confusing. What do you want your visitors to do? I don't think you know the answer to that question yet, and if you don't, they sure as anything won't do it.

Agreed. Success could mean a lot more than financial success or independence. Depends on your target market's needs. For instance, success to one of my target customers is not losing their house to the bank (renting it instead) or being able to get rid of a bad tenant. Don't get me wrong, they certainly want financial success but their more pressing problem is way more on their mind than that. Why else would they have been searching for it on the net and found your site?

Lot's of good ideas for you.
The pop up is a bit annoying.
IM is a hard one to break into and you are just generising on your site.
Maybe you need to look at a specific part of IM rather than all of it.

    Good luck,

I would also consider trying another Wordpress template that does not have those extra footer links in them. They are unrelated to your niche and possible "bad neighborhoods". I used to have a template with similar links and saw my outbound link quality improve when I got a template without them. You want everything you do to count positively.

I don't think this is etched in stone but as your site grows it may not be best to keep those links as part of your website. More experienced people here could probably chime in on this more than I can.
