I have a product that i want to put up on clickbank but it's over their price limit ($197). How do you get clickbank to approve a product with a higher than limit cost. Do you need to show them proof of conversions or anything else?

    I dont think you're gonna get them to do that on your first product - you have to have some history with them before they pull the trigger on a $200 price point.

    I would split product into two to avoid that CB limitation

    Yes, I would say the same. Can you create 2 products out of this? May be the second one is like an upgrade. Then in a few months, release the whole thing as one product when Clickbank qualify you for this price.

    Why not drop the price to where it should be. If you offer too high of a price, you will probably not make enough sales.

        Maybe it's worth $297, really? We don't know, do we?

        There are other options, here:-

        (i) Split the product, as suggested above;

        (ii) Sell it somewhere else (e-junkie? PayDotCom?);

        (iii) Reserve it for Clickbank, if wanting the affiliate facilities (and for what it's worth, with a $197 product, the affiliates most interested are likely to be the serious, professional ones whom you most want to attract - I always look at $197 products, on principle, to make sure I'm not missing out on something I could be promoting), and start off there with some other product such as a $17 or $27 one of outstanding value which you can promote there for a couple of months with almost no refund requests and then submit the $197 product for approval: I may be mistaken but my impression is that all you need is a "good record" regarding refunds, not a "long record". (But perhaps don't try it somewhere else first and then do that, because having an alternative sales page elseswhere may lose the very affiliates you most hope to attract.)

        I can't help wondering whether you've done any price-point split-testing ... but this is a different matter entirely!

        Alexa,

        But if they don't accept a higher price then he will have no other choice and to drop it.

        Maybe he should look somewhere else like offering it on PayPal which may accept his price.

    I think it will be easier than you think, if you put the product on at just $97 or whatever the limit is, then through your own testing and tweaking process (1 month? more?) you put 20, 50 200? sales through then just contactact clickbank - email them and say you want to try a higher price, that you have a solid refund rate, and that you are committed to customer service.

    If you do have a good refund rate, are making sales in good amounts then they will be a lot more inclined to up your limit.

    What you could do is split your original product into 2 or 3 separate ones, and then implement an up/down/cross-sell sequence to expose your buyers to all of them in a purchase transaction.

    Actually i was wanting to use clickbank simply because i thought that you could find the most affiliates from there. For the affiliate marketers out there, do you use clickbank exclusively or do you also use other affiliate sites?

    By the way, thanks everyone for you answers

      I only use clickbank, some use multiple sites for the same product, but I reason that this creates leaks, and is also more work - with just one payment system / affiliate network i.e. clickbank there are no leaks for people to send me traffic and for me to cut them out of the sale and send them to another payment processor where they won't get the affiliate commission.

      I want affiliates and want them to take me seriously so I only use one and focus all my efforts on this one site.

    Clickbank is the biggest when it comes to digital product affiliate programs, but don't forget that there are also CPA networks as well as physical product affiliate programs such as Amazon and Commission Junction. There are also many other private affiliate programs that aren't a part of Clickbank, and you'd have to join these separately (sometimes these are invite-only though).
