Default IM is like Navigating through a WalMart parking lot

had to grab some things...so I went to WalMart...

as i started looking for a parking place...I kept having to navigate between the shoppers and the "Shopping Cart guy" with his red zambonie lookin helper who were competing for the:

"Just how many shopping carts can you push at one time contest"

I felt like I was in an IM twilight zone. Every Tom, Dick and Harry
was coming at me with a shopping cart...it took forever to find a good spot.
It sucked

I'd almost forgotten about having to deal with that sort of thing in the parking lot but you're right. I boycotted Wal-Mart a few years ago because I got tired of trying to find stuff every time I went shopping.

We have one of their super-centers here and it's a nightmare. The thing is huge and nothing is ever in the same place because they're constantly moving and rearranging everything.

They think it's good marketing since people will be exposed to more items while they're looking for what they want but all I've ever heard were irritated complaints from fellow shoppers about not being able to find anything. Heck - even the employees had to hunt for awhile to help you find what you were looking for!

For years (before the Wal-Mart super center) I always got what was on my list first and then I'd enjoy browsing around the store to see what else might be interesting. I never did that at Wal-Mart though because by the time I finally found everything on my list (assuming they still carried it) I was tired and just wanted get out of there and go home.

Wal-Mart is not a fun place to shop - they make it very user un-friendly so I haven't gone anywhere near Wal-Mart for the last several years.

I've been enjoying shopping again at the much smaller locally owned businesses. Everything is always located in the same place, the people in the smaller stores know me and the atmosphere is much friendlier.

Don't even get me started about WalMart...

The people that don't pay attention to the arrows in the parking lot...
The greeters that don't even bother to greet anymore...
The TV's blaring at you as you try to remember just what you came for...
The socializing that happens right where you need to get to...
The worker that tries to "direct traffic" at the checkout lanes...

Not to mention we don't have a SuperWalmart here - we have a smaller Walmart that just keeps moving things around to try and look like a SuperWalmart.

I swear Walmart is brain washing people. Just the fact that Walmart has been mentioned so many times in my post has caused me to forget what the original thread topic was!

Please, in comparison to IM, navigating a Walmart parking lot is like navigating
my driveway.

That's funny Steven - you must have an incredible driveway.

I understand what you mean though - Internet marketing is a lot different than anything else and takes awhile to figure out. And while you're trying to figure it out you're being assaulted and blocked simultaneously from all directions - or at least it can sure seem like it sometimes.

Where do you live? On an airport landing strip?
