I am bowled over by this Warrior Forum...but HELP

I just found this site today and I have to say that I am bowled over by it. I have never seen so much information in one place. The trouble is 99% of it is way over my head and down onto the floor behind me. We are very good at what we do but IT is not one of those things.

Here is my situation. I have a proven range of products that we started with 7 years ago. We already sell successfully on 4 platforms but as I said in another post, I need to expand.

In a nutshell, I can offer a high rate of commission to any parties that are interested in driving more quality traffic to my website. I am open to any suggestions.

    Who is 'we'?

How can you have successfully been selling products for over 7 years yet not understand any of the basic marketing concepts that are all over this forum?

Why don't you just contact successful affiliates in your niche and do JVs with them to promote your stuff?

What exactly is it that you need to know but don't understand?

It's much easier to help you if you ask specific questions.

I can perfectly understand your comment.

We is myself and my wife. When I say successfully, I mean that we make a living from what we do, but we know there is so much more potential. Trouble is we are not spring chickens and IT is not our forte. eg I don't know what JVs are. We are extremely good at producing the product but our marketing skills are limited.

You can join to some affiliate sites as a vendor, and someone will sell it for you. Other way, you hired someone good at IT and do the work you are not good(use outsourcing service for lowest price)

Ok, I stole this from your other thread:

I am a newbie here so please forgive me for not wanting to give too much away. I will be brief. We have been in business producing our range of self hypnosis cds and downloads for 7 years,we are qualified and also run a small practice. We sell these cds on our own website as well as Amazon ebay etc. We have over 30 titles and have many testimonials from satisfied customers from all over the world.

We sell enough to make a small living from them but we know that with this genuine product we could be selling a lot more if we could get them noticed by a wider audience. I could consider a profit share but I have to admit we are very cautious and protective of our product.

The other factor is that we have no budget for marketing.
You can start with no budget for marketing, but honestly you will ramp up faster once you give yourself a budget.

So, I'm guessing you have a site, you are selling on a couple of other sites, and it is just you and your wife running the whole show - correct?

One of the first considerations might be your website. I don't know who created your site, if it has been optimized for SEO - meaning if I google right now for a hypnosis cd, will I see your site listed in the first few pages?

Next, I'm curious how you are distributing. Are you burning these cd's yourself? Or are you set up with a company like kunaki which will burn and deliver your products on demand for very low cost? This is important for lowering overhead as well as being able to keep up with demand once it hits hard.

Consider setting up an affiliate program. This will allow others to promote your products for you and get the word out quicker. Also, if you have been collecting names of people who have purchased from you in the past you can offer them this opportunity to promote the product.

As for JV's - that is "Joint Venture" and can be done a number of ways. For example, you could find a vendor who sells nice theraputic or aroma therapy candles, you email them and see if they have a list of customers, and you see if they might be interested in promoting your product in an email - whereby they get a commission on what is sold. You can also do a "list swap" if you have a list. Here you would email your list about the candles, and the candle company would email their list about your hypnosis cds.

As far as marketing without a budget, you want to find all free or inexpensive ways possible to drive traffic to your site. This can be done with article marketing, video marketing, free press releases, placement of articles on web 2.0 properties, and blogging about the subject on some blogging platforms.

I think that he is trying to say that he has no know how of internet marketing. Just because you are doing really well offline selling your own products, does not mean that you know what is going on in the internet marketing field and how to sell your own products.

Are you currently selling all offline? Or are you going through somewhere like ebay as one of your platforms?

Perhaps if you tell us what the platforms are, we can narrow it down and figure out what it is you don't know.

    Hi Guys,

Unfortunately I am a newbie here so I can't PM.

Yes I run the business with my wife. We sell on 3 of our own websites as well as Amazon and ebay. We could do with a new look website but we had the main one optimised recenly (Smart Traffic) and it came through with few things that needed changing. We are quite well placed on Google for most of our titles but there is a lot of competition. My wife is the author and producer of our products and when her actual name is googled, there are literally 100's of results.

Don't get me wrong, we do get sales for our downloads and CDs all the time but we know there is more potential if we knew how to do things differently.

We produce copy, print and pack the cds ourself from start to finish and our cost are very very low so there would be no need to involve a 3rd party for that.

I can see so much advice here but rather that going gung-ho, I could do with someone telling me the best place to start.

    Any help appreciated,

please PM me to make contact, I am willing to share.

      OK.

You sell products, a CD and you make them at home and ship them out. And you have some downloads too.

So, to increase business you take a couple of different routes.

      1. Try to increase the amount of each sale. You do this with a limited time offer, or an UPsell as it is known and you make an attempt to get MORE money for each order.

      2. You expand your back-ends. What else do you send in the fulfillment package? Do you insert a brochure for your other products? Do you make em a new offer they can't refuse?
Do you contact them with an emai, "hey, I'm about to ship your product but before I do, I just wanted you to know about..." and give them a chance to get something else.

      3. Do you allow other people to make offers to your customers? this is the most common form of a Joint Venture.

      4. Can you easily expand your product line? Include a complimentary product or service?

      5. How often do you contact your buyers? How and what else do they buy? Where would you find these people on the Internet?

These are basic generic suggestions and questions to help you think about ways you can increase revenue without increasing expenses.

You say you can't be PM, then say to PM you...sort of confusing. I did PM you in case you can get it. If not, contact me at gjabiz at yahoo dot com and I'd be glad to give you a few more suggestions.

PS. You might want to consider automation for fulfillment, via Kunaki or some such fulfillment house. Look for ways to put systems to work for you and eliminate the manual labor part so you can grow.

I would also suggest spending as much time as you can reading everything you can find on this site. The Search button works great, so you can find things just related to traffic, JV's, etc.

If you can immerse yourself for a week or so, you'll have a much better picture. Several hours each day will also help and drive the info into your brain until you'll start to get a clue as to what will work for you.

Once you do that, you'll be able to ask a specific question that will give you much more targeted help and you'll get what you need because you'll know specifically what you don't know.

IM knowledge doesn't come overnight - it takes a lot of reading and trial and error, but you can short circuit that a bit by doing extensive reading. There are a ton of great threads here with excellent information that will give you what you need if you're willing to take the time.
