How To Become An Expert In Your Niche?

Guys,

How do you become an expert in your niche?

What are your sources?

How do you give your subscribers valuable high quality information when you know just a little about the niche?

I tried reading the product ebooks of which I'm promoting. I've found them to be incredible huge and most of the stuff I read creeps out of my memory.

Someone suggested me that I sign up to newsletters of various products because that's where the real value is delivered.

I did sign up for the newsletters. But how do you learn this material?

Is studying required in this business? Just like, how we used to study science and stuff in our school.

Even though we didn't enjoy it that much (for entrepreneurs)... We still managed to write high quality answers that impressed your teachers in your early classes. So is that a pre requisite in this business?

How do you study the newsletters? Do you read 'em one by one or Do you print them off, put it in a file and go through them?

Do you just read them once or read them repititively?

Thanks,
Tyler

the best way to market a product in a niche you know nothing about is to find out what people want, then seek out answers for those problems...

organize the information in a way that you can show them how to get results quickly, then refer them to a product that explains more

the truth is you don't need to know anything about a niche, you just need to know how to sell

arguably an expert is someone that knows more than other people (people in general won't spend much time searching out free info, if you do then you know more than most people) ...people want instant answers

Know and answer some of their problems even better than they know and understand them...instant recipe for authority.

Also, expert by association is relatively easy to pull off. Network and create strategic partnerships/associations, and you'll gain credibility.

It's about 90% perception based anyway, but for that other 10% you should of course always work to learn and stay at least one step ahead of your target audience in knowledge and experience.

    Tyler,

You don't have to be an expert in a field in order to send good material to your subscribers.

There is a lot of content online that you can get ideas from.

As time goes by, you will start to know more and more about they niche and specific things about it.

    Ross,

That's a great point. Associate yourself with the "gurus" and you'll be considered one immediately. As with most things in life, perception is everything.

    I love this question!

The easiest way to make yourself appear to be an expert is simply by saying you are...then go on to support that statement by associating yourself with the big names in that niche!

It really is so much more simple than people try to make it...

Information collection is the key way of becoming an "expert" or "guru." I would make a database of all of the top websites/products for your niche. After building this little database, I would "step into" the mind of your average customer...what do they want? What information are they willing to pay you money to receive?

Once you've thought through these simple questions, go back to the database and try to pull information/knowledge from your resources. With this, you can produce an "expert" product for your niche.

My husband is the expert in our small biz, and he learned about it by doing it. It didnt come out of a book, it was good old hard work and trial and error.

I learned bits and pieces over the 16 yrs that he's been doing his job, but in the last 6 months or so I have absorbed so much about what he does, in order to talk intelligently to our customers that have inquired via our website. Osmosis is a wonderful thing! I dont know 1/10th of what he does, but I am getting there

We cant just wake up in the morning and be an expert on anything, it takes time and effort.
