Getting a mini niche site approved by affiliate networks/merchants

I have always focused on building larger authority sites in my affiliate marketing business. This is what I teach in my course as well, but I am also interested in getting into more mini niche sites. Now, for me, it wouldn't be a problem to put affiliate products on mini sites because I've already been approved by many affiliate networks and merchants. But how would that work for new students?

Since students are starting from scratch, if they build a mini niche site, do you think it will be a lot tougher for them to get approved? It seems that the various networks and merchants want to see a sizable site before they'll accept you into their program. So for those of you who have experience with mini sites, how does that work?

I know they could use AdSense, but for those who want to promote actual affiliate products, what are their chances?

They could start out with CJ.com, Amazon.com, or Clickbank.com, which are all auto-approve affiliate networks that deal in a lot of smaller micro niches.

I think if the sites have reasonable content, your students should be fine. I've been able to get approval from a number of CJ.com merchants for small sites with about 10 pages of content. The did a manual check before they approved. One time I had an auto-disapprove and once I emailed the merchant inquiring, everything squared away.

That's good to know, Sandra, thanks! Thank you to Drew as well.

If anyone else has had experience getting merchant approval for sites less than 10 pages, I'd love to hear about it.
