I have been having trouble securing the services of a capable virtual assistant. I had put some on trial, but they were not really good. Can someone recommend me a good and affordable outsourcers to help me with stuff such as forum posting, article submission, etc? Thanks in advance!

I'm starting to sound like a robot, but for good outsourcing on a budget I'd recommend fiverr or digital point. If you manage your budget carefully, you can get a lot done on $50 budget.

    depik,

The only REAL solution here is to do a good job interviewing people and then hire someone to work for you on a full time basis, if you can.

Hiring someone full time is more reliable than having a part timer, in my experience.

You'll need to pay somewhere in the vicinity of $300 per month to have a full time person out of a place such as the Philippines. If you want someone who can do forum posting then you'll want to ensure they have some reasonable English skills, although they don't need to be rock solid.

Most Filipinos speak and write pretty good English. If you need amazing writing, you'll have to look harder. But casual writing in forums, that's easy to find.

Geez, just today I wrote a blog post about people who worry about outsourcing because they had a bad experience. It's on my blog (see sig).

I agree with Thomas on this one. You need quite a few things to make sure that outsourcing would be done right. Full time is where it's at for me, especially if you are outsourcing daily tasks.

You train once. You reap in the long run.

Personally I'm more inclined to get people who are not that good but are trainable compared to exceptional people and train them to be 'good enough' for the tasks.

most tasks like linkbuilding etc don't need exceptional talent that would be a bit more expensive and 'in demand' which means they can go and find new clients everytime.

People you train are the ones that are gonna stay since you trained them and loyalty is pretty big here. just so everyone knows.

    Hi Depik,

I recommend going to firms with a proven track record of dependability and proficiency in offering staff leasing services.

Compare to freelancers who works from home, we have already trained our staffs before we deploy them to our clients. We guarantee that our leased staff are formally trained and dedicated to your project only.

You can hire offshore staff for more inexpensive wages if you hire full time.

You can even lower down your costs if you hire people who can learn fast but don't currently know how to properly do the tasks you need done.

You need to train them, of course, so you need to spend "time = money" -- I think they're one and the same thing.

If you're hiring direct or via a good firm, I recommend interviewing qualified candidates based on their existing creds via a text conference chat session on Skype or Yahoo! Messenger (of course, if you're hiring someone for video development work with voiceover tasks, you can do voice conference chat sessions).

Then, integrate training discussions, impromptu sampling and impromptu preassessment/postassessment exercises into your text chat interview sessions.

Preassessment sessions will help you gauge what they know, and postassessment sessions will help you determine how fast they learn and how well you understand each other.

I recommend the last postassessment exercise to contain everything you covered in the session. Make it a 2-hour postassessment exercise.

IM conference sessions will save you a lot of time because you simultaneously talk to qualified candidates.

Integrating training discussions, sampling work and preassessment/postassessment will save you time because they will be initially trained in the process, preparing them for similar tasks, all while helping you determine which candidates to hire. They will also tend to read and try to learn more about the tasks mentioned in the sessions using their own time.

    Hope this helps.
