when you visit an article/ghost writing service website do you rather to post your Job or would you rather prospective clients post their jobs and you contact them?

Yes familiar with Elance and Odesk but do not work there. My area of interest is in GAF(Freelancer) and Scriptlance. In my view, the best method to get projects and make more clients is the bid on more and more projects requiring your expertise. Please PM me if you have any questions.

so you find it most beneficial for you to bid on jobs rather than post an ad .... do you get alot of jobs per month doing this? how do you think you could best increase the amount of clients/income you earn on a monthly basis?

Odesk and Elance are both freelance sites where freelancers bid on the particular projects. This employees are all working from home and maybe working with other clients at the same time. I suggest to hire an outsourcing firm helping you lessen cost but not compromising the quality of our work.

I think allowing ghost writers to post their ads is more effective and gives clients better option and flexibility in finding the right person for the job.

If I was looking to hire a writer, I would much prefer being able to browse writer listings, samples, read feedback on prior jobs, etc. I feel hesitant about posting job details because I don't want to give away too much info about what I'm working on! (Paranoid, I guess.) I know you can be somewhat vague on the details until you decide on a writer, but my preference would be what I said above.

      Hope that helps!

I would rather contact people who are already posted jobs, so that you can be more picky about who you work for...

I have worked from both sides of the street - I used to get a lot of work from Elance when I was actively promoting myself there and I found if I could back up my proposals with good solid writing samples then I could get work quite easily. Posting jobs on a site like GAF for example turned out to be a waste of time for me in the end because a lot of people posted bids that were not suitable for the job but I still had to consider each one of them which took a lot of time. Then by the time I had checked their sample work through copyscape, and read through it all it would have been quicker for me to do the work myself.

My advice - if you are looking to work and you are a good writer then I recommend Elance as having the least amount of competition and a better quality of projects to go for. If you are looking to hire a writer then find one you like and stick to him or her - because you will save yourself a lot of time and money in the long run.

    Best wishes
    Lisa
