SEO Hosting with Hostgator "Under Maintenance"

I have about 50 sites on SEO Hosting with Hostgator.

From early this morning and even now I'm getting this on all my sites.

Under Maintenance

We are currently performing scheduled maintenance. We will be back soon!


They can't tell me when it will come up. Since it's "Schedule Maintenance" they won't give me a refund for the month.

Who the heck schedules hours of maintenance from 9am-4pm central time during the week?

Support isn't willing to do anything for me since it's "scheduled." However, I never received an email about this.

Not happy with Hostgator at all today.

    All my sites are fine and have been all day.

    Must not be going on across all servers.

    P.S - You'll find it cheaper to get a VPS or dedicated server through Hostgator. Still can get as many IP's as you want. That's what I'm doing tomorrow.

    After today I think I'm done with Hostgator. This is the third time this has happened in the next few months.

    What else is a good hosting alternative? Pair.com ? Godaddy ?

      My sites are up and fine. I'd call them and see if maybe there's something up with your sites. Maybe it's a unique problem.

      I get an e-mail everytime my sites go down for more than 30 seconds and it's happened maybe once (for no more than half-an-hour) for maintenance.

      Did you get a notice about maintenance? I've never heard of them going down for so long.

        I just checked all my sites and they are all up and running.

    Have never had this issue w/Hostgator and their customer service has always been spot on.

    I did have an issue w/LunarPages hosting but it turned out that my sites had been hacked through their shared hosting service...grrrrr.

    I'd check your source code and if it's fine, I'd call them and keep talking until you find someone who can help you and tell you what the heck is going on. It doesn't make any sense.

    It's not just with one site...it's around 50....the source codes are good.

    The sites have been down all day.

    Guys, please know the FIRST thing I did was contact Hostgator for support.

    The first time I called I got a run-around. The second time I called (after my site was down for 9 hours) the rep requested a refund for my month of service and I received a credit.

    But what I REALLY wanted was for my websites to stay up.

    This was the third time this has happened to all 50 sites in the last four months. I used to never have problems with Hostgator, but lately that's changed. Maybe my sites are in a poor location of their server...not sure.

      I've had Hostgator reseller account for over 4 years and not one of them went down to this very day. I am hosting 64 sites right now and everything is fine.

      It puzzles me why you are having this problem.

      My sites are up and running too.

      Hitmanad, it seems from this short thread to be peculiar to your sites.

      I would persevere with making contact with HostGator until you get a comprehensive response. I only say this, because if there is some issue with your sites or anything else associated with you, it will probably manifest itself again, even if you change hosting providers.

      I really feel your frustration and I do hope that you can get everything sorted out soon.
