Terrible Conversions...advice?

Hey everyone,

My first website, rhtyhmheal.com, is in the niche for "brainwave entertainment". I get around 200 unique visitors a day, but my conversion rate is less than 1%...I ususally get a sale once or twice a week. It is my first site, so I know there's a ton wrong with it, but I need some advice on what would make it convert better in the long run.

My mailing list is around 500 right now, and I haven't seen any sales from that yet either (and my emails have a bunch of tips, along with affiliate products). I'm not sure what else to do with the website to make it convert higher. Again, it's at rhythmheal.com. If you have the time, please check it out and post a few comments here, anything will help.

Just took a quick look and the site is no good.

    - You are using a very known template and looks like a random blog.
    - A headline and infomration about the products should be the first thing seen.
    - By my quick look i could not even realize you are selling something nor anything could hold my attention until such point. So, reasearch about land pages.

I was looking to buy some premium wordpress themes, is there a website which you would recommend to get them from? I'll look into better landing pages...you're right, it doesn't indicate I'm selling a product at all!

You don't need anything fancy, actually something simple is better.Usually a simple white page with a simple nice looking header with your logo and then your content is enough.Look at the pages of some products that sell well, find one you like and you think would fit your business and copy it, i mean, not the site, but copy its format and the tactics to keep the user interested to go thru' instead of leaving the site(do not go over the top here). If you have direct competitors selling well, reasearch them too, check out what they are doing.

I took a look and left a comment on your website. It's a start. Learning from others will help you improve your site.

If you want to increase conversions you need to increase
    the focus of the offer.

You have to present what you have in terms that really turn
people on. The affiliate program for the healing sounds
has a pretty bad website which uses reversed typesetting
which is very hard to read.

I say find a different niche, or find a different product or
find a better angle. And more focus, definitely.

You need a more better sale pitch! This for sure will increase conversions.

You definitely need to move the information up, and move the the sign-up box and the product list down. The headline that reads "What are Binaural Beats?" should be the first thing on your page. I would also come up with a better headline (maybe something like "Healing Through Rhythm - It Really Can Work!") You should also make the explanation a little longer. How do these beats help you? Give me at least a little background. Tell me what your product is and why I need it before you try to sell it to me.

I like the color scheme - very soothing! But the homepage is a little disorienting. Without any information at the top, I wasn't totally sure where to look first.

The colors are nice...but it doesn't look like a business site.

Your banner ad that explains frequency harmonics looks like an ad rather than an informative link. That's two pages I've looked at and still don't see anything to buy.

Finally on the third page I see something to buy, but by then I'm wondering about your qualifications in this topic. Why should I trust you?

So I click the 'about' page and see you're an affiliate.

So at this point, if I was interested in buying, I'd go to the site you're an affiliate for to see what their qualifications are before I'd let them mess with my mind.

Since you didn't link to them, I now have to search for them. So I don't click any affiliate links, I go to Google to find them. You plant no cookies that way. You need to make the text where you say who you're an affiliate for an affiliate link. If it was, I'd have clicked it and you'd have planted a cookie on my computer. If I bought something there, you'd have earned a commission, but because you didn't get that cookie planted, you lose out on any potential commissions.

Maybe how I experienced your site will shed some insight as to what you're up against.
