What's wrong with this Resource Box?

Hey everyone.

I have been testing a new resource box of mine and well it has failed miserably.

Any ideas why?

"Are You Diabetic? Can't Find Recipes That Actually Taste Good? Finally....Your Search Is Over! Delicious Tasting Diabetic Recipes All In One Convenient Location subscribe and get you're Free Diabetic Recipes. (link)

Don't forget: 52 Weeks of Recipes for Diabetics...(link)"

This is on, relevant diabetic articles 300-400 words, getting views just no click throughs.

Any feedback?

Thank you.

I like to make the resource box "flow" from the last paragraph in the article so it looks like one continuous flow.

Why ask "are you diabetic"? I'm presuming the title would ward off anyone who isn't.

The first link should use anchor text that is your keyword phrase.

The second link should simply be a typed out version of your link (for those nasty directories that reprint your article without links.

If you are using EzineArticles, go for over 450 words or so and you can use up to 5 words of anchor text (little words 'a', 'to' not counted)

    Regards,
    PCRoger.

Pure sales pitch - tells the reader that something will be required of them and that's a turnoff.

"Get free diabetic recipes at htt://etc" would work better. If you sell too much in your bio you stop the flow that the article created.

Thanks everyone...ha ironically it seems the longer I spent writing the resource box and trying to create something that would convert. The worse it has done. If I look at some of my old resource boxes from before I started reading about copywriting they converted far better. Strange, sometimes the more natural you write it and the less time you spend tweaking the better it will turn out.

    Thanks everyone

You bio box should pique interest or offer a solution - let the webpage do the converting.

Instead of starting your resource box with Are You Diabetic?, try a different approach like:

The best cure for Diabetics. Subscribe to our newsletter and get free recipes that will help you to reduce your sugar levels for ever.

    This should help.

If it still does not work, try a different resource box.

A formula I often use in both resource boxes as well as PPC ads is to come across as if I just found something and "I" am one of "them"

      So, for example...

"I'm Diabetic - And Here's Where I Found 50+ Of The Best Tasting Recipes Ever...It's Only Taken Me 11-Years, But Finally Food Tasts Great Again!"

More personal and still speaks to the already targeted prospect...

A couple people have mentioned having a longer article to be beneficial. Why would a 500-700 word article work better than say ~300 words? Does this have to do with providing more value so people will be more likely to follow your links?

I agree with what has been said and would add a couple of things you could also test. First I would remove the reference to having to subscribe, like Kay said, let the web page do the converting.

I would add that whenever you are tempted to use the words, "don't forget/delay/put this off," substitute the words with the action you want the reader to take. For example, "don't forget" becomes, "remember."

I would also strive to really connect with the reader by injecting a little more personality and/or words that have an emotional impact on the reader.

I might use something like this:

"Diabetic But Hate Those Terrible Diabetic Desserts?

Click Here to get FREE mouthwatering desserts. The sugar-free creme brulle will
have you in ecstasy and the Savoy Truffle is out of this world. The recipes
are free and the taste will make you forget you even have diabetes."

...or something like that. Not sure about reminding the reader he
has diabetes at the end... and the food copy was off the top of my
head and not something I've tried to write before.

Get Drew Eric Whitman's book, "Ca$hvertising". The guy writes great
    food copy.
