This might not be the same for everyone, but this is what I've noticed. I've tried getting a site indexed with digg alone. Everytime I do this, my digg article ranks in the top 10 for the term I want to rank for, then a few hours later, my domain shows up there. However, this only lasts for 2-3 days. Then the digg article disappears from top 10 and same goes for my site. My site usually ends up nowhere to be found for the term, but is however still indexed in google. The digg article however can still be found, but is usually on the second, third, or some other page, sometimes it disappears aswell! Is this normal if you're getting a site indexed using only digg? How do you personally digg your sites to get them indexed - do you digg an article on your site or the homepage itself? What I'm thinking might be the cause of this is the fact that my site gets a temporary PR 6 backlink from Digg's upcoming page, which quickly disappears once my digg article is off the upcoming page. Maybe Google doesn't like this. Thoughts please? |

this does not surprise me I recently posted something in the warrior forum and got my site #1 placement for 7.5 million in competition ahead of forbes I had no additional backlinks to the site, so I decided to see what would happen same as you a few days later, the site is pages back from the first page so without supporting backlinks you can get a quick pop to the front page, I have seen this many times for other peoples sites so if you see someone promoting I can get you to page 1 of Google, make sure the technique has more to it than a quick pop to page 1, you will surely disappear from the results in a few days without supporting backlinks to that page Ed |

It's like eating sugar - you will get a quick fix and then it will fade. You need a sustained roll-out of links from good places. Keep adding links and content on your site and on others pointing back. If you get squidoo lenses, articles, social sites and quality directories pointing back plus blog comments, videos and forum links you will build a better base for your site. You may also get results submitting the RSS feeds from all those places to an RSS syndicator like RSS feed Directory - Feedage.com. |

Good quote. That made me laugh.I have had some occasional luck with Digg, but mostly I just enjoy reading the site. I suppose by participating more on Digg you can build trust and one day make the front, but I'm not sure the Return on Time Investment is worth it. | |

If you build a few relationships and they digg your stories that is nice. I have found going broad with lots of links has a better pay off and insulates from ups and downs.
