Is this a good plan of action?

Due to my time constraints and the fact that I'll be doing most of the work myself.

For traffic generation:

  • Post 1 blog post a day(350-400 words)
  • Post 1 article to the top 5 article directories
  • Convert article into a podcast and load on podcast sites
  • Convert article into a video upload to video sites
  • Make 10 useful forum posts in niche related forums
  • Make 10 useful blog comments on niche related blogs
  • Social Bookmark and submit Rss feeds.
  • Rewrite article and post it on 2 web2.0 properties
  • Press Releases
This is to be done everyday. I am going to do this until I can start outsourcing and get a few tools that I need.

Thanks,
jd

yeh its a pretty good plan, i would suggest trying to get some social media stuff involved. All you really have to do is create a facebook and twitter and then click the share button on all ur blog posts so that it posts it to facebook as a status and tweets it. of course you'd have to add friends daily but that doesnt take too long

This is a very good plan if you intend to do it every day. Also submit the articles to pdf sites. You don't have to rewrite the article to post it on web 2.0 properties.

Make sure that you link back to your original blog post from every single article. Use a bookmarking software and bookmark the articles on directories and your blog as well.

Follow this plan in a niche where you can find keywords that you can rank for. Keywords and niches like getting your ex back are over saturated and one article a day won't be enough. But there are lots of other niches that you can target for with one article a day.

Make sure your keyword research is good. Get around 30 keywords initially. Write and post articles for 10 keywords from those 30 for one month. 3 articles for one keyword. You can't put all your chances on one article. That's why domination is necessary.

And the second month, go after your next set. In three months, you will have dominated the entire niche and you will be getting a consistent stream of visitors to your site.

Also link to your squeeze page from all of these articles to ensure that you can monetize the traffic/

      Tyler,

      thanks......

great ideas as far as reducing blog/forum posts.

I'll ramp up the articles and cut back the forum/blog commenting.

I was doing 3 articles a day, but the time it takes to submit to 5 directories was getting to become time consuming. Although 5 is not a lot, it does take time. I don't want to half-ass this but I want to ensure I give time to my other commitments.

Once I can start outsourcing, the first thing that I am going to outsource is article writing and submission.

      Thanks

I'd suggest reducing blog comment and forum post to one. And then replace it with 2 articles. so write and submit 3 articles a day.

I think this is a very good plan of action. If you stick to it, you're bound to see results. You've already got enough to do each day without me suggesting anything else, but I would say that you should automate things wherever you can.

E.g. I have some software by Incansoft that can social bookmark, submit RSS feeds and send out articles to article directories (all separate pieces of software).

I also use a Twitter plugin on my blog to automatically send a tweet each time I post a new blog post, and I also connect that Twitter account to whatever services I can (like Squidoo, Ezine Articles etc). so it automatically posts when I add new content.

These automated services take a little time to set up initially, but when they do they're a very useful way of getting some of the work done for you.

As resources and time become available, I'll start implementing other things such as list building.

A lot businesses that have been started did not starts out with everything in place. As money start to come in, it was reinvested. That's my approach. If I miss a few visitors because I don't have my email marketing set up, I'll be fine. It's one step at a time for me.

My biggest weakness is doing to much when I know I will not be able to do everything. I have to take it in baby steps or I will fail. There is no doubt about it. I have had to many "what could have been successes" due to trying to get everything done at once. It does not work for me. As long as I move at the pace and the direction I am moving in, I'll come out on top. I know me and my weaknesses all to well.

I am in the process of learning how to do email marketing. I have a few ebooks on the subject.

      Thanks for the reply

Make sure that you made proper research on the keyword. If your keyword is very competitive, it will take you some time to ranking 1st page on google.

      Walter,

I've been going through the process for a few days now and it's actually NOT ambitious at all. It does not require a lot of time. All of which I don't have.

See above^ reply to ArtilcePrince to get the answer to your other question...

I understand, but building a list isn't a difficult as you think; you're doing most of the work. The first month at aweber is $1, and with this plan you'll make that back your second week. Just create and opt-in form, then write an email every 3 days until you feel that you're caught up. If you want to be efficient, just spin your articles into shorter, informative emails.

Trust me, it took me 2 years to finally build a list, it makes a big difference.

      Sean,

I don't doubt what you're saying. I need to work out the issue of time. It may sound easy to you to just sit down and write the emails out. For me it's time not so much difficulty. Everyday I look at what I can do to get more IM stuff done so I can eventually do it "full-time".

On that note, I'll see what I can give away as a free report and get it going. I did see a nice PLR report I can give away.

Do you think I should set up the squeeze to be in front of the blog? Of have a drop down box on the blog?

      1st Example- squeeze>Blog

      Thanks,
      jd

    Hi Johnny,

Good plan but I also want to add up writing on free press release sites (which also generates amount of traffic) and also adding "sexy bookmarks" plugin that should be below your blog posts. This will help motivate your readers to share your contents among numerous networks provided so you won't have to integrate your Twitter Tool manually to other web 2.0.

Furthermore, the All-in-one SEO Pack from Wordpress is pretty useful to optimize posts onto the search engines.

Quick reminder: You may use this image attached to determine if your keyword is viable or not and if it's getting enough traffic within your niche. I'm currently using this tool and I thought this would also be beneficial for you. Just use the Google free keyword tool and look at the global monthly searches while you compare your Google search results for your keyword.

    I hope this helps.

Great plan. The most important part is consistency. If you will do that for 30-60 days, you will see some great results.

The only thing what I would change is article conversion to video. Better would be to record a video where you explain the concept behind some of your blog posts or some useful tip. Best would be video up to 1 min long, as people usually are in a hurry, and they do not want to watch longer videos.

I also would like to suggest to outsource article writing to somebody. It will save you enormous time. Go to odesk and get somebody who can write 7 articles per week for around $2.50 - $4 per article. Offer something like $0.008 per word and you will get somebody who will do that for you.

It is critical part, as then you can focus on your blog posts, which is a completely different thing compare to articles for directories, and other stuff. You might also want to add some guest posting on some of the top blogs. It will get you more exposure and traffic to your site.

Anyway, it is great plan and good luck with it.

I hope it helps you a bit,
