They are annoying, but I can tell you from a BUYERS prospective, they work. I have bought several ebooks because I was offered the product at half price when I tried to leave the sales page. It just happened last week. The price was $39.95 for an ebook I really wanted, but I was not willing to pay that much.

Then I got the offer for $19.95 and bought it. Works for me.
