What equipment are you using to record phone interviews?

Hi I am interested in creating an interview based product in which I would interview people via phone and sell copies of the interviews on line. Can anyone tell me what equipment other than the phone I would need to record the interviews, edit them, etc, and then distribute them via download on the web and/or CD? Thanks, Ed.

If you do interviews using Skype (get a decent quality mic for it, and pay to fund your Skype account if you want to be able to call land lines) you can Google "Skype Recorder" to find software to record the calls.

From there, any audio editor will let you edit the recordings, including Audacity, which is open source and free:
Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

Upload files to a website to sell as a download, or sell physical copies on demand using Kunaki.com

I discovered freeconferencecalling.com - (not an affiliate link)

      • I use it for all my telephone interviews and you can even do a live conference up to 500 people i think
      • its totally free
      • it has voice recording with a control panel once you login to listen to and download the recordings
      • i use it even in some videos since my microphone broke!

try it, its free and i love it

    Hey Ed,

I've done this and have used Skype for the call and have purchased Pamela for the recording.

Pamela works seamlessly with Skpe. As you make the call a box comes up asking if you want to record the call, just click yes and you're away.

The recording quality is excellent and as soon as you've finished the call, a window comes up with your mp3 recording.

    Pamela for skype. Very good.

Good luck with your interview (...I'm doing exactly the same thing right now...)

    Reach new heights,

    Nathan

Another option that I have heard of Ed is freeconferencecall.com, I've heard they're good but I haven't used them myself.

They also record the call for you.
