Urgent help needed with WP sitemap problems

If anyone is available to take a look at why sitemaps are not working for me I would be really grateful. In the past I had no problems but I have used a different host and I think there are permissions issues. I have tried several things such as changing permissions with no luck. If you could help please let me know.

Many thanks

John

I've just fixed this one for John. If anyone else has the same problem here's the solution -

The problem is caused by Wordpress not being able to write to the sitemap.xml file. It doesn't have "permission".

To fix this you need to create a file called sitemap.xml in the top level directory where Wordpress is (this is the directory that contains the folders called wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes).

Change the permissions on sitemap.xml to 666 (using CPanel file manager or your FTP program).

Then login to your Wordpress blog and go to the sitemap submenu under settings and choose "rebuild sitemap".

    All done.
