Drip feeding learning software?

Hello everyone.

I am coaching a group of people through a project and I am getting frustrated not knowing who is at what point and also not sure if everyone is doing all the steps.

I know a while back I was part of a program that allowed each user the ability to have their own account and then move through the program step by step at their own pace. Once you were done with a step it would ask you to fill in some information to prove that you competed the step then it would open up the next step for you. As you opened up the new steps they would all show down the right hand side so if you ever needed to go back for any reason you could. I am assuming that the admin also had the ability to monitor the students and see who may need some help etc.

Anyone know of a script that works like this or similar? I would love to get this project moved over to this type of format so those who are quicker can get going on the project and those who need more time can do that as well.
