Hi

I just saw that my webhost offers a blog.mydomain.com and i was thinking that i would create one since i have a few articles that doesn't quite "fit" in on my website.

I was thinking that i should put those articles somewhere before posting them on article directories.

And i was wondering if my mydomain.com would benefit from the articles i put on the blog since they should be connected?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, creating a subdomain does not directly help your main site (in terms of SEO), because they are considered to be two separate sites.

However, you can create back links from blog.yoursite.com to your main site, that should help you in terms of SEO.

But would mydomain.com benefit from mydomain.com/blog?

If you can create backlinks from blog.mydomain.com to your main site mydomain.com, then it is obvious that you can gain some benefits from these articles; If not, you main site can get nothing because in the search engines' eyes, blog.mydomain.com has nothing to do with mydomain.com
