Can Anyone Recommend A WP Theme?

Hi there,

I'm looking for a 2 column Wordpress theme that's clean yet nicely detailed, not too minimilistic or too busy either.

Can be free or cost money.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Adam

I have that in my sig.
I don't know what you really like but check also this site newwpthemes.com for free themes.
There is also a theme called Thesis at diythemes.com.

The Thesis theme is one of the best WP themes out right now. But you should checkout Woo Themes too.

      Hi

I use blocks 3.0 a free word press theme. 2 columns no fuss and very simplistic. Easy to add widgets etc to if required.

I have used a WP them called "Clean Copy", on a couple of occassions, and like it a lot - easy to set up. It is perfect for all that I am doing. If you are interested here is where I got it.

Thesis / Headlines / Busy Bee / Digital Farm all good.

    Last three are from woothemes.

I would recommend Thesis theme for your blog. Take a look at themes in Themesforest.net as welll, they have some good themes for blog/magazine recently.

Woothemes is good, but their theme often expensive.

Take a look at elegantthemes.com, they offer all of their themes + 1 year subscription just for 39 only.

    I hope that helps.

The "default" (called twentyten) in the new WP 3.x version is pretty close to what you described in your OP.

Thesis or the Busy Bee theme mentioned above, this is what i'm going with. Get a custom header and good designer to work with, makes all the difference.

I like wp-remix if you are new to wordpress. Gives a lot of good "templates" out of the box for a very little investment. Examples: www.realwork-hantverkare.se

    Costs about $75.

Free templates for just playing around, why not FreshPick from ThemeLab. In use here Husgrunder.com.

    I hope this helps.

Thesis is theme but it is more like a framework, and in order to get it al psiffed up you need to be able to do a fair amount of CSS on your own with no support from DIY except in the forum. There is no instruction manual.

Flexsqueeze works pretty well, it has a bunch of options you can set in a control panel and if you want your site up yesterday, this is a pretty good choice. You can also custom code in css with Flexsqueeze and you can do it with the same selectors as in the main css code. With thesis you are a lot fo the time working in a custom class.

I use Ultimate Blogging Theme. It is easy to set up. And you can also choose 1, 2 or 3 columns. But it is paid wordpress theme. It is a little expensive but I can use it unlimited. There are videos showing how to use it and optimize it. I also like their designed advertisement places.

I was browsing through looking for some guidance on good blogging themes when I came across these posts. After going through them, I think I will try out the Ultimate Blogging theme (Xiaoayuan's post). I went through the site and found it very interesting, indeed.

FlexSqueeze is probably what you are looking for. (no affiliate...yet) It's just impressive. After having trouble with some other premium themes I am a happy camper.

Their Premium Membership allows you to access top notch sales pages and squeeze pages incl the Photoshop files.

    Cheers, Alex

Check out the Socrates theme by Dan Nickerson and Joel Comm. It is written for Internet Marketers for Internet marketers. I'm using it on all my sites and I'm volunteering as a moderator on their support forum. Very reasonable cost for unlimited domain usage.

Take a look at Pro-Sense. It's 3 colums but it's really clean and tidy and it comes in three colour options to match your graphics. ProSense Grey, ProSense Blue and ProSense Original.

All three are really nice but I prefer the first option. However, I suppose it all depends on your personal tastes.

OK, many people are pushing the Thesis theme, but I do not agree. Thesis is expensive. I use Blue sense which is free, and save my money.
