Hi Warriors...
Do any of you know:
1. How many people you are allowed to 'friend' per day on facebook?
2. To set up and maintain a Facebook profile do you need to link a mobile phone number to it so they can send you an sms with a code in it for confirmation purposes?

Feel free to throw in any other Facebook must know info if you like!

    To answer your questions

    1. How many people you are allowed to 'friend' per day on facebook?

How many friends do you have trying to be your friends? i have friends on my profile that add 50 or more a week, one guy has 4500 odd friends

    2. To set up and maintain a Facebook profile do you need to link a mobile phone number to it so they can send you an sms with a code in it for confirmation purposes?

This is a security feature on FB. you need a mobile number so it authenticates you as human. Email addresses are freely available and i have many gmail email addresses.

So FB has chosen to use the mobile number instead of email authentication

FB is full of spam and scammers so its a security feature to restrict the number of profiles one person can create. i would think its based on IP address/class/isp details to help reduce the above mentioned spam/scammer

    EDIT

In addition to this, the Facebook help pages made mention of possibly verifying your account with a mobile phone.
Users will be required to have a verified Facebook account, which may require mobile phone authentication. This decision was made to prevent people from creating new accounts just to take advantage of reserving a username.

    Hi Beau,

Also to add, you'll get suspected by FaceBook when adding friends IF you're adding on a continuous and tremendously fast and random basis. They're (bots) more like to look at the click activity so if they see you behaving differently, they may think you're spamming on adding friends even if you've only added 10.

    I hope this helps.
