Old Warrior Looking For Information
First off I am not looking for sympathy or for handouts, I am trying to find the information I need to get started in Internet Marketing after being gone for so long.
With that said, I would like to introduce myself and give you some background information about me so that you can better understand the reasons behind my questions.
My name is Amanda Bruenger, I have been or I should say was an Internet Marketer since (dirt was new) seriously, since 1999, I made my first $1.00 in 1999 or 2000, don't remember exactly, but what I do remember is running from my house to my brother's house with my $1.00 check and a big fat smile on my face so I could show them all that you really could make money online, since all I had heard for months was how I was wasting my time, real people couldn't make money on the Internet, it was just a scam to get your money. I wish I had kept that check and framed it, but I didn't, I cashed it.
My first purchase online was a book from Jim Daniels called Insider Internet Marketing. I signed up for newsletters and visited the forums religiously from Jim Daniels, Allan Gardyne, Phill Wiley and others I can't remember right now, to learn everything I could about affiliate marketing.
About that same time I found the warriors forum, joined and never regretted it, I read and reread every post, I guess you could say I received my Internet marketing education right here (actually on the old forum), If I couldn't figure out how do something after getting frustrated I would go to the warrior forum to ask a question and It would never fail that someone else had already asked the question and gotten the answer and off I'd go back to building my affiliate sites.
I even bought frontpage 2000 because of recommendations from warriors, after figuring out that frontpage express which came standered on windows 98 back then was to limited. The money started trickling in little by little, then later the checks started getting bigger and bigger (not as big as Roslind Gardner's) who I realized started online around the same time I did.
Still I was proud of myself, I could bring in $2000-3000 dollars a month with no list, and spending as little as 1 cent per click on goto.com. Life was great, things were starting to fall into place for us.
Then my father had a major stroke in 2001 which caused post stroke dementia, he never walked, spoke or eat again, we opted for a feeding tube which helped keep him with us for another year, a nursing home was out of the question for my mother, so my sister and myself helped our mother take care of him at home, I wasn't able to work at my online business as much as I wanted to, but I was still making pretty good money from the affiliate sites I had up so I wasn't really to worried.
I would help with my father in the daytime and work online at night.
My father passed away almost a year to the day of his stroke in 2002, That year took it's toll on my mother, so my husband and I moved her closer to us, (meaning right next door) so that she could still have her independence but still be close enough if she needed me.
Over the next 2 years my original sites were still consistently bringing in decent money, I even helped my naysayer brother and sister start their own online business's and even put up a few more affiliate sites, so I thought I can really start concentrating on getting my business making more money now, even did ebay for awhile.
In 2004 I realized my mother was starting to deteriorate mentally, the diagnosis was Alzheimer's, the doctors said she couldn't live alone anymore so we moved her in with us, and for the next 5 years my world revolved around her, my mother was my best friend and I wasn't going to lose her without a fight to this awful disease,(been there, done that, got the t-shirt) so I dove head first into finding out as much as I could about Alzheimer's, and taking care of my mother. I guess you could say I was losing my mind trying to help my mother to keep hers.
In September 2009 the Angels came for my mother, one month after her 82nd birthday, It was a very long hard fought battle, even though I thought I was prepared, I was devastated when she passed.
Just as I think I can try to start getting my life back to normal (whatever that means), and start making money again another tragedy strikes, December 26th 2009 our oldest son and his wife were in an automobile accident, they were hit by a hit and run driver who was never caught.
My daughter-in-law was 33 weeks pregnant, the accident paralyzed her, my granddaughter was born on Dec 27th and spent 17 days in the neonatal unit, my husband and I had to bring the baby home with us from the hospital because our son couldn't be at the hospital helping his wife deal with what she was going through and take care of the baby to, we had her here with us until April.
After they left I went into a very bad depression, I just couldn't function at all. As a result my online business quietly quit making any money, I do keep up with my hosting so at least some of my sites are still online and I have made around $300.00 this year "woo hoo" but that's it.
With everything that's been going on in the last few years my wonderful husband has quietly kept the bills paid as best he could without much income from my end, knowing the one year anniversary of my mother's death is coming up and worrying how it will affect me, he didn't want to tell me but he didn't have a choice to finally tell me our house is going into foreclosure and we owe $3600.00 in back house payments.
Now it's time for me to stop feeling sorry for myself and try to find a way to keep our home.
So now I finally get to my questions, since I haven't done any online marketing in a couple of years, (and we all know what that means in Internet years) what would be the quickest way to make $3500.00 - $4000.00? I know I'm a little rusty, but I know how to build affiliate sites and even know how to build them with wordpress.
Other than advertising with adwords which is probably way out of my league these days, what is the quickest way to get money coming in?
I'm a fast learner so any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You for reading!
