Massive Guru Product Launches And A Quick Question...

Hey there Warriors,

If you have ever followed a massive guru product launch, you have probably noticed that the formula goes something like this...

Drive traffic to a squeeze page, prospect opts in, they then get a series of videos over the next few days followed by a sales video and early bird list.

My question is this, on the squeeze page part of this whole sales process, how do you make it so that your prospects computer gets cookied when they opt in on the squeeze page in the event that they return to the root domain after opting in and would then be redirected to the videos?

Let me know if I need to be a little more clear...

Talk soon,
Matthew Neer

Yeah, I just watch Product Launch Formula and basically all of them follow the same system. And they also will promote each other product to their own list, so each launch is huge for this reason.

the whole idea behind this is the opt-in and they value the list more than the actually sell because of the longer term value of a customer.

Affiliates send traffic to the squeeze page through an affiliate link.

Many affiliate programs also use multiple referral tracking
methodologies. So even if cookies are deleted the
database still tracks who the referrer is.

Also, what many do is, when the product launches, you just setup bonus offers such that, if people buy through your link, you get credit for it.

I'm sure, if you're on a few IM email list, you get the same email from various marketers trying to get you to get ready for the product launch. What if you decide to check out all those links? Well, the cookie will be overwritten to the most recent affiliate.

So, a bonus offer is one option.

It depends on how the affiliate link is tracked..... if the website operates on an specific URL tracking matched to an IP then it doesn't require a cookie. If it needs a cookie then the code on that index page (squeeze) will extract the affiliate details while the page is loading.

You are initially setting up your affiliate program so that all affiliate links point to the squeeze page and when the prospect visits the referring affiliates info gets stored on the visitors browser. A good affiliate program will also track who referred each person to ensure that the affiliate gets credit for the sale in case the visitor clears their cookies.

It's worth noting that several of the more popular affiliate programs including clickbank do not have sophisticated enough tracking systems to ensure that the affiliate will get the commission from a prospect sent to a squeeze page. This is where 3rd party scripts or inhouse programs come in.

It is a pretty straight forward process if you program in PHP... If you don't, there are several apps you can buy that will give you access to that capability...

Most systems will do it two-fold, with cookie and ip tracking in the database, to give credit to the appropriate affiliate who generated the referral.

    I don't write code.
I have a friend who is launching a new niche product in about 6 weeks.

I want to help him set up affiliate tracking. Some of you mentioned there are apps for doing this. Can you please provide some links?
