Follow Up eMails For Autoresponder...YES or NO!

Hi Everyone,

beyond sending a welcome to my list email, does anyone use follow up pre-written emails to promote clickbank products?

It has been said 100's of times that the money is in the list...Now I have a good size list but cant figure out if I should broadcast each week or just start doing follow ups to promote.

I would assume followups would work well and I have a feeling that is what they mean about money on auto-pilot.

Please let me know what you do or think

Thanks

Yes, unquestionably the list is gold!

What you have to consider is, "is it something your list will find valuable?"

Just emailing to be emailing, or if every email is "buy this", you'll start seeing people opt-out. You don't want that.

Instead, make sure you're giving them meaningful information so when you do send out email they are anxious to read it.

In the same respect, don't go to long without sending them something. That can also be damaging. You want to send something out at least once every 2 weeks. Make it educational. Share a fun story they can relate to with a message at the end. And of course, when you run across those amazing deals you think are really good, share them with your list.

But to your main question, I have pre-written emails for about all of my offers. It's called "process marketing", and it's very powerful.

My 2 cents on the topic.

Yes, follow ups are pretty much auto-pilot money. Broadcasts are for an occasional lump sum.

I use both followups for uninterrupted stream of income and broadcasts for raising larger lump sums of money.

Absolutely. I try to create follow ups for at least 2 or 3 months after the signup, but I've seen other marketers create what seem like endless follow ups.

Obviously, scripting those follows ups to fit in with your sales funnel and continually provide valuable content is the key element to keeping a low unsub rate.

The follow-up emails should add value to your subscribers with a paragraph on soft sell.

I have follow-up email lasting 9 months and as activetrader mentioned it give me a uninterrupted stream of income and occasionally I use broadcasts for newly launched products which bring larger sum of money.

You can also apply the 80/20 as well.

80 % valuable content and more free stuff.

    20% sales pitch.

Of course, what matters is how responsive your list is.

I have one list with only 50 subscribers but got 25 people to open my emails and 20 to click the link. Not bad, but I think it's because the people in my list are really targeted...and not in the MMO niche.

Follow ups are great and often sell to those that may not have bought first time. With broadcasts I tend to alert them to a problem people are having over a mailout, provide some free advice then tell them about a product. I tend to get more buyers this way and less opt outs than if I just pitch straight to them. Keep it nice and relevant, find out what they want, survey the list then find your product to promote.

With Clickbank I have found that some niches do well with list building,
    while some others do not.

And as others have already mentioned, you must provide good content
    to your list.

Also, as others have mentioned you may want to tailor your promotional
    emails.

I personally like to send a promotion on every third email, but it needs to
    be relevant to the email.

    For example: (Forex Trading Niche)

AR Message # 1 Topic: Pros and Cons of Forex Trading

AR Message # 2 Topic: 3 Ways To Become A Successful Forex Trader

AR Message # 3 Topic: Putting Your Trading On Autopilot With Forex
Trading Software (Promote Forex Trading Software Robot)

    Etc...

Personally, I think you need to tailor the amount of messages you send
    to your specific niche.

Sign up to someone else's list in your niche to get a feel for what others
    are doing.

    Hope this helps,

    Rien

Follow ups are good for new subscriber so you can get them warm. I would setup 5-10 follow ups and later try to broadcast some "live" content. After that do one promotion.

You definitely want to load up at least 10+ emails in your autoresponder sequence so that you can generate income passively from your opt-ins even while you're away from your computer. This is pretty much how the gurus generate autopilot money, and your autoresponder is in effect your tireless employee who never forgets to send out emails and follow up with your prospects when it's time to do so!

You need to have a good mix of value emails and promotion emails. If all you do is send offers to your list you are going to kill it in no time. I know personally that I have unsubscribed from lists because they never sent anything of value.....only offers.

Have a mix of "soft sells" and "hard sells" in your follow-up.

Yes, follow up messages works well, i usually start with 5 follow up messages, and keep on adding 1 after a week or so. I am not an expert but it has worked fine for me so far .
