How to find out what the hotest niche?

Hi all,
How can I know what is the hotest niche today? and what is the hottest product in that niche? (I don't care about the competition level)
I'm talking about product with huge demand and interest that suppose to be released soon or released lately.

For example, I know starcraft2 is damn hot in the gaming niche. the reason I know it is few of my friends are gamers told me, otherwise I wouldn't know it. so, how can I know what people want without having intelligence?

I don't look for an answers about the hottest niches but for an answer about the info sources of getting this niches.
Thanks!

Why you want to find the hotest niche? As we all know, a popular niche usually means a keen competition. If you build a site with a hot niche, then you must spend much time and efforts on gaining the first ranking in google search results.

There are some tricks that affiliates use to determine that... for example, to check Clickbank marketplace for a products that sells good... going to any of those keyword tools and trying with a few phrases could get you some info too ... Google Trends or other Buzz sites could give you some idea too... also, you can check around Facebook for popular pages with lot of members... I would say there is a lot of resources out there but it would take you some time to get the info you want...

    Trend today, gone tomorrow.

The trick about trends is to get in on the act before they even happen...

Did you ever hear about MichaelJackson.com?

All it took was for him to croak it and the next day you had 100,000+ domains registered and last week you had 100,000 of them dropping since no one had the sense to realise that only the first one to sell is actually realistically likely to make any money. After that no one really gives a **** since there are so many others to choose from.

Same story with ChatRoulette.com and CamRoulette.com. So many many with too little imagination copying everything they see.

    Same with MillionDollarHomepage.com

The list goes on and on, do not follow the crowd but get in front of it. And make sure you don't slow down and get trampled.

Do your research, and you can do this. (Unfortunately, few want to exert the effort required to effectively anticipate and capitalize off of trends)

(With one of my products, I did this, although after 5+ months of research, and it's been making a killing $$$)

I put out a post the other day about using Amazon to find good niches as they have done a lot of the research for you.

Go to Amazon.com and find the best selling magazines page and scroll through the list. This is essentially a list of active niches with avid buyers.

If you want to read more about this you can read the entire blog post which I have added some screen caps to show why this is so easy.
If you go and look at the entire post on my blog you will see a clearer picture of why I say they do a lot of the research for you.

    Best of luck!

I would suggest reading blogs. Not just small blogs, but established blogs with thousands of daily readers. These type of blogs usually post about the hottest products.

Kotaku.com, for example, made at least 5-6 different consecutive posts alone in regards to StarCraft 2. That should indicate that StarCraft 2 is the hottest gaming product on the market right now.

In other words, keep up with the hottest blogs, and you'll be keeping up with the hottest products/niches.

Your best bet is to go to clickbank.com and see what products have high gravity. It typically tells you what products are hot, that way you can see which markets are hot. I do this a lot for digital products. If you want to know more about physical products than just go to ebay or amazon and see what's popular on the front page of amazon or on ebay pulse you can see exactly the top ten most sold products, this should help.

Spyfu is a good place for research, see how many advertisers are bidding on a keyword... also Google Adsense Sandbox Preview Tool with Text, Image and Video Ads - Leaderboard, Skyscraper, Rectangle and Square formats is pretty neat, shows you ads being used for any keyword....

Not exactly what you're asking for but useful nonetheless...
