'Social Bookmarking' and 'backlink' question.

Hello fellow warriors! I'm confused with these 2 methods.

Am i right to say social bookmarking = back linking? If yes,

I was told to social bookmark every of my accepted ezinearticles, blogpost, videos, squidoo lenses etc etc... because it helps to build authority to the page(the above mentioned few sites) which in turn carries a backlink to my actual page(a squeeze page etc.)

So do i still need to bookmark my webpage url(squeeze page) to get DIRECT backlinks?

I was advised again by fellow warriors that i should not have more than 100 backlinks per day or else google may find me spammy.

Let's say if i have 10 articles that consist a link to my actual webpage and i social bookmark to 50 sites, 10 x 50 = 500. Do such indirect backlinks count into the 'do not exceed 100 backlinks' rule?

    social bookmarking will help your sites, articles etc get indexed quicker but unless they offer "dofollow" links then they won't actually be a "backlink" as such.

    For example digg.com can help you get indexed quick their links are no-follow.

    There's plenty that will give you a backlink though, mixx.com is one of them

    Backlink Building with SB is dead in my opinion. It has been totally overused for linkbuilding properties and now you need an armada from them to get one spot up for a particular keyword.
