I have 3 articles that on ranked high on Google

I have 3 articles ranked high in Google and I get fairly good views but am unable to get farther than that. For instance heres a link to the one but yet no one clicks on the link to the page. [URL="http://ezinearticles.com/?Vera-Wang-Bridal-Gowns&id=4647630"]This site has had over 260 views in 3 weeks but only 2 clicks have happened. Just wondering if anyone could give me a pointer or two. The second one is #1 in its keyword and its a blog but its supposed to get them to my static site but that doesn't happen either. The third one is my site and its at the #12 spot in its keyword but produces only 30 to 50 hits a day none of which have converted. Maybe I'm using the wrong keywords but they all matched 2500 exact searches a month and over 100,000 broad searches a month. If someone could give me some honest advice it would be greatly appreciated.

    doug,

your ezine article is so so. you start talking about your wedding dress in the first paragraph and than change to her wedding dress in the second, not keeping it personal is a mistake, imho. after the 2nd paragraph it just turns boaring.

than the visitor gets to your site and sees a bunch of gibberish (have you looked at your site lately?). may as well be in latin, with all those out of place characters. i use firefox btw, just in case it has something to do with the browser.

you wanted an honest opinion...you got one.

I have used ezine articles many times and sometimes they accept my articles articles right away but other times I have had to edit the article until they approve it which sometimes is two or three times resubmitting but so far all but two have been accepted.

One clear problem that I see, is that your resource box is, not all that enticing and practically non-existent. Your whole point of the article is to educate people, get them hooked and have them click on the resource box and visit your site to take, some sort of action.

If I was you, I would look at the articles (in your niche) that are getting the most views and take a look at their resource box. Next, look at their landing pages. Your landing page will not get it done ( I say this in the most positive way). Take a look and try to emulate, what other successful authors/marketers in your niche are doing.

Try to put up a wordpress blog and use a free theme and then design a catchy optin box. There are lots of things to consider, but take it slow and try your best to see how others are building their lists in your niche.

    Cheers,
    Magic

      magic,

      your sig is wrong:
      it should read:

"You can either give a man a fish and feed him for a day OR teach him how to catch a fish and he will be fishing and drinking beer all day"

Thanks Magic for your insight I have to say that I didn't put much thought into my resource box. I know my site sucks but not sure how to fix it so I will take your advice and try to improve on it thanks again.

Try building the site in Wordpress. It will look much more professional and all you have to do is upload a nice looking theme and a few plug ins.

    Best of Luck!

If you have hostgator, it is very easy to do. Use cpanel and just click on fantastico and wordpress is in there and press install. I'm sure other hosting platforms that have cpanel, also use fantastico.

It was a pre made site that I got for free when I bought something else over a year ago. I guess you could call that a spun site I have another one just like it.(Not up and running though)

    Vera Wang Bridal Gowns

    - Too long of an article
    - Make the resource box all Bold so people can notice it
    - Have a Call to action in the resource like
"Enter to win a Vera Wang dress today!"

You think its too long I will write another one a little shorter
I have changed the resource box and since I did it resulted in 2 more clicks so that made a difference but I'm not gonna advertise something that isn't going to happen. Thanks for your time and advice
